    finishing walnut stocks

First walnut stocked pistol. Should the stock be whiskered like curly maple. Should the grain be filled with Birchwood Casey filler and then stained? Any way to prevent chipping while carving? I am going to final finish with Danish Oil or Keith Casteel oil woodstock finish.

Any suggestions.

    nose caps

Am trying to build the "perfect pistol" to enter in Dixons. Probably can't happen but my question is should the front face of the nose cap be inside or soldered on to the front. Hershel House in his video puts it on outside but the ones you buy are all on the inside. I have made one piece caps...

    MLBS Oct to round Barrels

I am thinking of building a pistol using MLBS oct to round barrel. Their barrels are oct to round but the round section is swamped. I am wondering how tough it would be to inlet a barrel like that and how to attach sights and barrel lugs.

    octagon to round inlet

I am thinking of using a MBS octagon to round pistol barrel for my next pistol build. Is the barrel normally inletted straight to the diameter and flats of the barrel or are they inletted around the wedding bands?
