    Nice transaction

    Sure thing!

    Nice transaction

I just wanted to give a shout out and thank you to @BigSkyRambler . I recently purchased a CVA Hawken from him. Nice smooth easy transaction and quick delivery ( by USPS standards). The rifle is in much better shape than advertised. I must say, y’all missed out 😂. Thanks again, Anthony

    Tn. Muzzleloader season countdown

Good luck to you as well! I’ve been seeing lots of deer and deer sign. Lots of acorns as well. We have a little cool snap coming soon. Hopefully, that will jumpstart the rut. Good luck, Anthony

    New Mexico iron sights regulation.

Sadly, this is the sort of thing that divides hunters. As we are seeing from some other posts. If it’s legal, and ethical, by all means, have at it! It makes no difference to me how one hunts as long as it’s within the means of the rules. Scopes? Have at it! Crossbows? Have at it! In-line...

    Thoughts and input

I’ve only been in there twice. Different guy both times. It isn’t my usual “go to place” I was just in the neighborhood going to Lowe’s and thought I’d stop by. Maybe I caught them at a bad time or he really didn’t want to part with it. He just gave me the grumpy stink eye. I was friendly...

I went back to that shop really quick this morning with intentions and cash. The owner was acting strange. Almost like he didn’t want to show it to me again. I got the impression he didn’t like me asking questions and looking down the barrel (which was empty) but a workable rusty. He was...

The bore looked decent looking as far as I could see with my initial inspection. I’m going to go back this weekend with a light to double check before I finally make a decision. Anthony

The Mrs. in the avatar.. well, she is a redhead. Probably wouldn’t go over to well 😂. In all seriousness, she’s the sweetest person I’ve ever known. She wouldn’t mind. Anthony

I believe you are right. I don’t feel that it is a bad price. I just was curious as to what everyone else thought. I’ve been wanting one for a while. I’ll probably end up getting in the next week or so. I just recently purchased another muzzy on here earlier in the week. But, two in the...

I’ve been keeping an eye on this Underhammer at a local hole in the wall for about a year now. It’s a Hopkins and Allen in .45. Rifle is in decent condition minus a few spots here and there. Ol boy says the only person who has looked at it in several years has been me. He’s part mule...

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

If that works for you then that’s fine. I’m going to be very conservative and play it very safe and say that’s a hard NO for me. I’ll stick with the BP. Anthony

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

I don’t think i would do that. I’m sure it’s for BP or Pyrodex only. Some one correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m sure not going to advocate doing that at all! Anthony

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

That is a very good point. I wouldn’t have to worry about anything but BP because that’s all that is have. I’m now thinking of at least trying it just as a stopgap between purchases. I have enough 209 primers to make it a worthwhile purchase. I would eventually like to have the real deal BP...

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

I was thinking the same. I figured that was what I would use for the time being until I bought a real deal muzzleloader made specifically for my needs. Anthony

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

Thanks for the tip! I’ll stay away from that. I suppose one could just brass shell shot shells and load it that way with powder and such. But sort of defeats the whole idea of true “muzzleloading”. I’ve wanted to try what the OP has written about myself. Maybe I’ll just get a dedicated...

Just In Time for Fall: Pumpkin Spice Black Powder

I was just going to post the same question. Good thinking! Anthony

    Modern shotgun barrel conversion

I’ve seen an adapter for them to that just pops in the back and then is loaded like a regular muzzleloader. And I myself have thought about dabbling in it. 20 gauge to 209 Muzzle Loading Adapter Not sure if that what you are looking for or just a full on modified barrel. Anthony

    Aging a Cherry Stock naturally….?

That’s exactly what I’m aiming to do! We have a few that we took down when we built our cabin. We have cherry, maple, oaks and the like. Some I hope to use for stocks and others for some wood turning projects (if I ever get the time) anyway, thanks for the pics! Anthony

    Aging a Cherry Stock naturally….?

I am a big fan of cherry. I have some on the ground that we recently felled. I have ideas and ambitions for its use. All I need to do now is get it into a workable milled form/shape. Anthony

Check your CCI caps before you buy

I have had a few recently that looked like they had no primers in them. They popped, but no boom. I was like.. hmm that’s odd and thought nothing of it. These were bought late last year and early this year. I’ll have to look at them a little further. Back to my story. I primed another one...
