For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

I would think it makes less of a difference with a short pistol barrel than in a rifle? Or am I mistaken?

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

Also I just like having a nice gun to shoot with. Isn't that half of the fun?

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

That's a good way of looking at it!

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

Regarding the rules it is a bit difficult as the rules of the German "Deutscher Schützenbund" and the MLAIC are not identical just similar... I'll try to find a pistol that is acceptable for events using either rules. According to the German regulations it is ok to use either smooth or rifled...

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

Thank you for those suggestions but I am really only interested in flintlock guns.

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

Could you point me to the page where the pistols are listed? I looked at the results but only found names and scores not make and type of pistols.

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

That‘s good advice, I‘ll do that. Besides the two models mentioned the La Page is used often I believe (and custom pistols like Tilo Dedinski - Steinschloßpistole Tatham & Egg).

    Quite understandable.

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

Entirely possible. But e.g. a Kibler rifle is in the same price range and there is plenty of conversation about them. Might be that there are way fewer pistol target shooters than say hunters around.

No one with first hand experience about those guns around?

Taylor vs. cimarron vs. Traditions vs. Pietta?

Is there a higher end option for a Colt 1851 Navy or a Remington New Model Army 1858 than Pietta or Uberti?

For target shooting: Pedersoli‘s Mortimer or Tatham&Egg?

I am looking for a flintlock target pistol. Both the Pedersoli Mortimer and the Tatham&Egg (rifled barrel, cal. .44) look good. Would you recommend one over the other? Or something else entirely?

    Pedersoli Baker rifle video

Just making sure I understand you correctly: you feel they are too expensive for how they perform?

    Pedersoli Baker rifle video

It's been four weeks after my second e-mail. I don't expect they'll respond....

You think their prices are (too) high?

    Fusil

It is similar to two ‚s‘ or rather ‚sz‘. Pronounce it like the ‚ss‘ in ‚pass‘, maybe even more sharply. It evolved from two letters ‚s‘ stacked on top of each other.

    Fusil

You can use interesting German letters here: Steinschloßbüchse!

Recommendations for a first flintlock rifle

I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the answer! Do you use (hot) water to clean the barrel even though it is still attached to the stock?
