    Powder bridging

This summer, I obtained a large quantity of 1fg Goex very cheaply. On a whim, I used it in my Lyman 50 cal flinter. It worked quite well and did not have any more fouling than what I would expect with 2fg. What I did was to swab with a spit patch after I put in the powder. Ignition was good...

L&R RPL lock for a Traditions Frontier Rifle

I am interested in how this turns out as I recently purchased the RPL for my Lyman GPR. Looks a bit rough and unfinished, but I have an older L&R lock on a custom Long Stock Hawken that works very well. Looking forward to pictures.

    pillow ticking patches

Same thing with my GPR. Using a .490 ball, ticking is real tight. I just lean on the short starter real hard. Easier as I get older(heavier).

    Flintlock Help

I have been having the same issue with my 50 cal GPR. What seemed to help the most, after opening the touchhole to 5/64, was using a 30 cal bronze brush with a cleaning patch, to dry the patent breech. You can feel it pop into the breech, then twist it. Works well for me. Never had this issue...

    GPR set trigger screw

I picked mine up at an ACE HARDWARE. They only had one screw and it was in a small bin with washers. :nono: Had to go through the whole drawer to find the only screw that size. They had several 2.5x12 screws, so I got a couple of those and cut 'em down to size and they worked fine.

    GPR set trigger screw

Picked up a "mini machine screw" 2.5x8 for 30 cents. Works perfectly. The trigger now has no creep and can be adjusted for what ever pull you need. Mine is now 1 lbs.

    GPR set trigger screw

I have a 50 cal GPR flint with a long creepy set trigger. The adjustment screw doesn't change anything. Is there a replacement screw that will help this? Thanks in advance.

    Locks, what to look for

I have been shooting a custom long stock Hawken flint in 58 cal for 20 yrs. It has a very good L&R lock. Recently picked up a 50 cal GPR flinter just cuz. Get one, you will like it. Exellent production gun and very affordable.

From "that thing" to "your rifle"

My vote is to name it "HOG".

What do you think the best roundball caliber is?

I only have a 58 cal long stock Hawken. My small game load is 1 scoop of ffg (300 Win mag case cut off at the shoulder, 70gr). Big game(elk) load is 2 scoops.

You can only have one muzzeloader and your heading to the hills

58 cal long stock Hawken flinter. Has already accounted for deer and elk. And it's the only one I have.
