    As an auto mechanic for 40+ years I've always drilled and tapped and countersunk freehand. But yes it can get real ugly especially on a customers engine, transmission, etc. Not recommended for a newbie.

    Not familiar with tapered barrels but it would seem to me for the liner to be perpendicular to barrel flat the muzzle end of the table would be raised
