    If we were talking about scoped in-line rifles, the .50 guys would have the upper hand, but we are talking round balls. They only reason I could see for choosing a smaller round ball over a larger round ball might be trajectory, but since were talking about ranges limited to iron sight distances...

    As the man said, you can always load a .54 down if you want to take it easy on your shoulder. Go with the .54 for round balls and Whitetail.
