    ASTORIA by Washington Irving

I think this is the same book Anecdotes of an Enterprise? I'm not sure how old my book is somebody signed it in 1897. I read this book when I was in Junior High, and it blew my mind! Still one of my favorite books.

    Help identifying this stock

National Muzzleloading Rifle Association has been around since 1933 with shooting completions and people building guns. Your gun looks like some old parts and a new stock? I've seen shotguns with that style hammer. Maybe look at Dixie Gun Works and see if they have that patch box or Track of the...

Trade Gun barrel Lengths from "For Trade and Treaty" book

I like looking at the Trigger reach numbers in the book For Trade and Treaty and then looking at the visual appearances of the various buttstock lengths. The book does a great job with details of the guns the book presents.

Having a Smoothie Trade Gun Built got question?

Thats right you don't need a rear sight. If you need to then file a line in the center of the tang or use a domed tang screw with the slot aimed at the front sight. One time at a canoe in Rondevous across the Snake River and up the Palouse River the amm guys had a steel plate up on the canyon...

Your wood base looks good! I don't care visually for a base made from modern cut dimensional lumber.

    Sling Ideas for Trade Gun

    Pre-Dixie "Kirkland Guns" .45 Rifle

I have an early 60's or late 50"s Dixie catalog I'll have to look at to see if your gun is in there.

    Simple question…..

I live in Washington state at this moment the humidity is 93% at 4:46 pm and 52'F this weekend they are forecasting an atmospheric river in the sky by Monday we should have experienced 3 to 4 inches of rain. I also live next to a temperate rain forest. Even if your flintlock doesn't fire the...

Anyone else chomping at the bit for the Kibler smoothbore?

Does anybody know for sure what style of fowler Kibler's new kit would be. I can't think of any 19th century, so I assume some kind of 18th century fowler?

    Simple question…..

Sorry if this was already posted I got lost with so many pages. There are a few styles of pans on Locks that would also help keep good ignition in the rain. L&R makes an English Flintlock with the roller frizzen with a tear shaped "waterproof" pan. The Chambers early English lock has a frizzen...

    Bad influences

Think of it this way you can make your money back and maybe add some, but did you add the $315 for the lock? Have fun on the build.
