    Square patches

Patch also grabs the rifling (if you have any) and helps impart that spin to the ball. Personally... what shape would be needed to totally wrap the ball "seamless" ? No creases, folds, gaps, etc. Mebbe I need to tear apart a tennis ball or something.... but I'd think The Ultimate would be...

    Cordage for Accesories?

Your hemp cord COULD work fine... And this is the key. Though instead of braiding I'd suggest something a tad cooler and craftier like a solomon bar knot etc. Check out the youtube channel TIAT (tying it all together)

    Conical bullet selection website

What caliber exactly? .355/356 would be 9mm or 380 boolits, 357/358/359 would be 357/38 special

First and Last Barrel Channel Finished.....Pic Heavy

I've only widened existing channels... but 80 grit sand paper wrapped around an appropriate sized dowel, piece of pvc, socket, etc. makes quick work of it on walnut, beech, or laminate.

    Home made caps

Lee sells fixed volume dippers in .1cc and larger sizes (whole kit is every .3cc from .1 to 2.something) If instructions are "one third scoop of each.." or similar then ANY fixed volume scoop of an appropriate size. Why the small batches in the instructions? Now, it has been a while since I've...

Which state is the best for ML?

One more vote for Florida, *especially* if you have private land. The problem with the WMAs is that they are either quota limited OR they have small mini-seasons that are separate from the general zone seasons. "How do I get the private land access" you ask? Well... If I had the $ I'd buy a...

    Aquisition of black powder

4 or 5lbs at grafs comes to about $25/lb with shipping and hazmat, between their brand and Schutzen and even one or two grades of Swiss they had all the Fs available last week. Natchezss just had a "no hazmat for over $99" *and* they had #10 caps in stock yesterday (no hazmat deal is over).

Powder grain size effects on velocity

So according to the Lee powder dipper capacity chart (used for their powder scoops for metallic reloading), "Black Powder" with no manufacturer listed ranges from 13.9 grains *weight* for 1cc volume for 1Fg to 14.7gr (2Fg), with 3F and 4F at 14.9 and 15.9 grains weight for the same volume...

Cleaning - After Round Ball vs Maxi or Real

No difference in how I clean any given gun based on what ammo is being shot. But for my metallic cartridge stuff I avoid corrosive surplus like the plague, think if I didn't I'd have to have a slightly different process there, closer to how I clean BP rifle.,..

    My “slug gun” prefers PRB’s

I'd spend a little more powder experimenting a bit more with your load, like putting a wad (lubed or dry, try both) between powder and a maxiball. My 1:48 twist .54 CVA shoots the Dixie Gun Works maxis and .530 RB with about the same level of accuracy, about 4moa which is about as good as I...

    Unloaded muzzleloader at the range?

Range rules are usually one size fits most For my revolver I remove cylinder. For inline shotgun I crack action open (converted single shot) For my rifle, half cock and uncapped and if possible an empty barrel But nonstandard stuff can be confusing "All bolts must be open" But this is an...

    How much powder?

Empty 223 case is close enough to 30gr for me With a steel frame 1858 clone you cant really get too much powder in the cylinder and have the bullets properly seated

    Pawn Shop Percussion

I can find more deals than I can afford, that is for sure. My buddy has deeper pockets and a stop at an out of the way got him several additions to his S&W revolver collection at a very good price. Hundreds of dollars better than what you'd get at a show. Just this year I scored my CVA .54...

    Pointing Vs Aiming

So a few things ... 1 when shooting for accuracy a small group is all that counts , not where said group is. Very hard to shoot a small group when you have shot out your aiming point 2 once you know a gun can group, adjust the sights
