Unboxed a TC Seneca that arrived at the door today. Is an early 4 digit .45 cal. The barrel is brown not blued like most factory and has a dovetail buck horn rear sight. Not factory screw on sight. Front sight is silver Hawken style not the factory partridge style. The barrel is marked Thompson...

Your Fav. Vegetable Oil for Making Lubes

Cottonseed oil is some pretty good stuff. I don't recall ever hearing it mentioned here. We use it during our fish fries. Cottonseed oil doesn't hold the fish flavor/smell as bad as other oils. It seems to work as well as olive oil for me. Cottonseed Oil: Uses, Side Effects, and Possible...

    Ok question on round balls

I always start .005 below the caliber. So .50 cal, I would start with a .495 ball. The tighter the better, but I don't want to have to drive the balls down with a hammer. If I'm just shooting that .50 for fun and letting friends shoot, I will shoot .490 balls. They load easier. That being said...

    Under lug help

Yeah, I can make one. Could also just file cut in a dove tail . Was trying to find one like GM used. I have not called Dixie. I have noticed lots of the Italian barrels have them, like Lyman. I have a Sharon that also has these. I will try Dixie tomorrow. I did check their website a few weeks...

    Under lug help

Does anyone know where I might find one of these? I am putting together a Green mountain 36 cal drop in barrel. The barrel was factory drilled and tapped. I have found everything but the screw on under lug. I called GM and they told me that they don't sell ML barrel parts anymore. TOTW...

Removing the barrel on a hooked breech rifle for cleaning, yes or no??

I always remove my hooked barrels. It makes cleaning them faster and easier for me. And I have never noticed a change in shot placement.
