Round ball in a choked bore?

I have a Jackie Brown flinter made with a shortened version of this barrel. ( shortened by my request at the factory ) With the choke restriction at the end of these barrels, I dont think they could be safely loaded with patch and ball. Any load small enough to pass thru the choke would nearly...

    Quacks and flint

I have my eye on some "concentrated" mallards and wood ducks. But I fear the water conditions may also concentrate hunters including a few trespassers. I will hope for the best.

A fowler by any other name....

I agree with that. He says what he knows from his study and perspective but never tells anyone else that their study or perspective is wrong. I dont respond much here either but I like reading Spence!

    Last bird of the year.

Veeeerrrry nice. That tail, beard and spurs would look good on a plaque hung on the wall!

    cedar bark grand slam

Very nice bird, great story and another good lookin gun. With exception of the bark, your turkey load is similar to mine.

    First flinter turkey

Yes it is. I asked for it to be made when Colerain did a run of barrels and they were happy to do it for me.

    First flinter turkey

I have not shot alot of ITX so I cant see any scratches or damage whatsoever to the barrel. I will keep an eye on it though. It makes for deadly wound channels!!!

    First flinter turkey

http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/linkrj/IMGP0002-1.jpg Was tough hunting with plenty of rain, adult birds that wouldnt come to call, coyotes, and bobcat. But finally this "short beard" came in close enough for my 20 ga Jackie Brown flinter with Colerain turkey barrel. 85 grains #3...

    Flintlock bird

Hey, it looks like a trophy to me! Nice job. That young bird should be good eating. And most important is the hammer is on the correct side of the fowler!!!! ( I am a southpaw as well)

    Late season mallards

Nice picture! Ive seen more mallards around the Horicon area this late fall. Big flocks, hard to decoy unless one has a large set. How do you like the hevi shot? Have you tried ITX?
