    how do you guys clean your guns?

    I clean with my patch lube, (wet for bore between shots) (dry for patches) using the moose snot mixture, then take the barrel off when I am done, sit in a coffee can of HOT water and plunge, let set, plunge more, then dry and oil.

    Loads for a Pietta 1858 Brass Remington, .44 cal.

    I went to the 454 in my remington, the smaller ball would not give me a shaved ring when seating, didnt feel right, kinda loose, 454 fits it perfect.

    KIK Powder?

    I always heard this powder wasnt too good, But one time I happened across a pound and I think it was the best my 54 cal ever shot, My next order will be 10 pounds of it, no more Goex as long as this even cheaper. still got 5 pounds of goex to burn though.

    In my GPR 54 cal...I tried all combinations, and ended up with a tight fit, 535 and .020-.23 dry lube patch,,very accurate but have to use a starter or mallet to start the ball and a range rod...its great for target, but would not be a great setup for hunting. the loose fitting combo is good for...

    Old Eyes GPR hunting settup

    I need glasses to read, my far sight is good. I put the 57 sights on, the globe one, with inserts, That setup helped me alot, I just focus on the front sight, and dont think about the rear, it kinda just falls in place for me somehow.

    Dave,.LOL.I grew up outside of Cleveland. I know cold all too well.( Chardon )..thats one of the reasons I moved down here..I'm thinking I may need to just stay out this area till rut begins, then use the lures..I got my GPR 54 cal.doing 4 inch groups at 100 yards, So I think I may get one then...
