    I own a .38 cal. rifle with a false muzzle. The gun was built by Ralph Dunn in 1930 It has the original solid brass short starter with the gun. After taking the gun home, a freind and I took the barrel out, debreached it and found it had a vertually new barrle in it. I'm trying to find some...

    swaged bullets

    I have tried the 38/55 and they work quit well. problem is that they are way to hard and a real pain to load even with a false muzzle. I'm looking for a bullet with less tin. Is there someone who shoots the old slug guns and could give me some help in this area.

    need help with ID

    The first thing your buddy should do is to take the gun to a (good) gun smith and have it debreached. They can then push out whatever is in the barrel. After that, take the gun to someone qualified to identify it.

    Last year I shot a deer at 80 yards with a 50 cal. 90gr 2F .490 ball hit him sqare in the chest and the ball lodged under the hide at the rump. ran 50 - 60 yards This year 60 - 70 yards quartering. the ball went in behind the ribs and came out the chest. same load, the deer went 40 yards.     there are some places to buy unoiled rope. Four Seasons Tent Masters has it and I think its 20 cents a foot ???????? :hmm: give them a call or check the local hardware stores.

    Sauk Trail Long Rifles in southern michigan holds a hog rendezvous in february each year. This year was a wooswalk and they gave away 350 pounds of pork.what a great weekend. :thumbsup:

    One thing you do not want to do is use oiled rope. the oil will leach into the canvas and cause a leak. any oil is death to canvas.
