    Is the fly not "attached" to the tumbler? Staked or pinned or some such method?? In other words if you disassemble the lock can/does the fly just fall out??? :idunno: TIA

    I remember the first time I shot mine, loaded it so the ball was about flush with the end of the cylinder. When it fired I said; "what is that!!!" About the same load as a .45-70!!!!!! :shocked2:

    New to THIS forum, been working on cowboy guns for well over 20 years now to pay the rent and eat. I've come here to specifically aid me in my flintlock pursuits. Owned, sold, repaired, etc., many a cap and ball but wanted go further back in time. Looks to be lots of good info here.
