been to the woods 3 times in 3 weeks, walking trails, checking feeders & trail cameras, and looks like this will be a lean year, gotta search far & wide to find a few scrawny acorns. not much for a squirrel to eat in my areas, and have seen dang few squirrels, guess the late freezes we had this...

Billygoat..yup, .56 smooth bore, and if i remember right i was using about 7/8 of an ounce of #6 shot, with an equal volume FFg...experimented with that one a while, as i recall it didnt pattern real good, or at least not with the stuff i ran through it. maybe i was doin something wrong though...

    T/C Seneca loads ????

most accurate loads are around 25 grains in my seneca, but it was acceptable with loads down as light as 15grains. ditto on the loading, much as i like my cherokees, i wish they were .36's instead of .32's.

Hoyt, that sure is a fine lookin rifle. well, it was nice & cool, though the weatherman was off by 6 degrees, bit warmer than he said. did a lot of snoopin around, kinda scouting for deer mostly, but tryin to keep an eyeball peeled for squirrels. far as i can tell, the acorns just...

A SWAG at the value of this TC

sorta figures, i'm jinxed that way. surest way for something to be dropped is for me to take an interest in it. my renegade is a .58 and it carries great to me, with that big hole up the middle it balances just right....thought maybe a 54 in a 15/16 would feel close to that. i had a lyman...

A SWAG at the value of this TC

i bought a hawken custom at a local gunshop a few years ago, new & unfired, and it was a real looker, knockout wood, and i gave $300, someone had traded it in on another gun. at the time i had too many .50's and a few months later a guy offered to trade me a 209x50 encore straight across for...

    Squirrel Chasers?

we got lucky on the chiggers, part of the area that has the best squirrel hunting on my place we burned this spring before greenup, cleared out a lot of brush & really helped with the chiggers & ticks. deer liked it too, a few weeks after the fire the return growth was great, and they hit it...

    Squirrel Chasers?

Bout this time of year i start gettin twitchy...love chasing squirrels, even got restless & started a new shootin bag for my .32's to keep me enthused. usually by Sept 1st they are cutting pecans...went to sneak around the creekbottoms last weekend to check the trees & looks like a pretty lean...

Stumpkiller...i also have a new englader 12ga that i like chasing bunnies with now & then, though my wingshooting is on the lousy side. Mine is the early model before they added screw in tubes, straight cylinder bore i assume...did you notice a good improvement in patterns after choking? i've...
