    Thanks Mike... That's what I'm going to do. The stock is walnut with a repair plug that runs just behind the side plate side, thru the wrist and out near the trigger. Take care, Don Oh, by the way, any idea what this kit might have cost 20 years ago? Thanks.

    I like to drill the holes first, that way I can keep track of the center line thru both holes. That way you can tell if the plate starts to drift left or right and keeps square with stock

    Aquafortis Stain

    Aqua-Fortis might have a green tint to it if not heated properly, but if used right, there's nothing like it. I've also seen Magic Maple stain fade or turn blond with age. I might use MLF or MM for touch up work or repairs but thats it.
