    Pedersoli Kodiak .72 question

Paul, I must say I dont have any experience in this field but Ive read up closely on the .72 Kodiak and its performance on game in detail, as I would like to own one. Ive read of two instances where the .72 round ball (545gr) failed to fully penetrate, both in wildebeest(weight approx...

    LMF Browning agent?

Hi all, Just wondering how easy is LMF (Laurel Mtn Forge) Browning agent to apply? Could someone explain the procedure for applying it. Will I need to order anything specific to use it? Also how durable is it, does it stand up to normal wear and tear? I presume it gives quite an attractive...

    Screw removal

Hi all, I've been reading that the Lyman escutcheon screws in their kits are pretty weak and prone to breaking. I stumbled across this while looking for some other stuff at the Rockler site. Thought it might be of some use to those having this kind of problem. I presume you then fill the hole...

    .32 Crockett kit?

Thanks sjb1958, tried their site but they dont even offer the kit version...kinda weird :hmm: I guess I might have to buy a completed rifle from Midsouth and redo the stock but its not the same as putting it together from scratch.

    .32 Crockett kit?

Hi all, Im trying to find a good deal on a Traditions Davey Crockett .32 kit, it's going to be my first build. The only kit I can find is from The Possible Shop but its going for $335. Thats more than the completed rifle from Mid South and about the same from Dixie and Thunder Ridge. Does...

    Thoughts on Africa

Thanks for the heads up on the flints snake-eyes, I think I worded my post a bit back to front as we can get flints here with no problem...its always good to have a back up supplier though, thanks  Also elephants can still be hunted in southern Africa. Mainly in Zimbabwe as the...

    Thoughts on Africa

Great to heaar you had a good hunt!! Im from Zimbabwe but just moved to SA, just to let you all know that muzzleloaders have recently been deregulated in South Africa. That is no licence is required to own one. Its taking off really well here and you wont have any problems finding powder or...

    Lyman Stock

Awesome pictures Titus, thanks! Is the rifle above the GPH a Lyman Trade Rifle? Can I ask which one you prefer and why? Also how does your GPH manage with round ball? Just wondering what velocity you are getting and accuracy as it would make for cheaper practice than shooting...

    Lyman Stock

Hi all, I was hoping to get a Lyman GPR kit and build my own rifle, but I see they are only offered with the 1:60" barrels. For hunting here in South Africa I'm going to need the 1:32" barrel for conicals. To those with Lyman Great Plains rifles is there much that can be done with the stock...

    Screw alignment

That was easier than I expected  Thanks a lot for your help gents, I'm going to give that a try

    Screw alignment

Hi all, I was wondering how you go about lining up the tang, trigger guard, and lock screws so the screw slots run parallel with each other and the centre line of the barrel? To me it makes a lot of difference to the looks of a piece and that extra bit of effort went into its construction...

    What Tools?

Hi everyone, first post but have learnt a lot already. Im thinking of kitting myself out so I can tackle some rifle kits, slowly at first but eventually I would like to do a full stock shaping inletting, and install sights etc. What tools does everyone here use, I mean right from the beginning...
