FOR SALE D. MULFORD .62 flintlock

Once I have a lull in work and access to a tape measure I'll add some pictures of that. Off the top of my head it had a 20ish inch barrel and overall around 45-50inch.

FOR SALE D. MULFORD .62 flintlock

Up for sale is a D. Mulford custom built trade gun. Lott marked lock in .62 or 20 gauge smooth bore. From what I could find, he was a builder in the 80's. This one is marked -8 and took that as the 8th one built. A few others found online were marked up to 90 something (although few and far...

Original British Brunswick P-1841 type Early Model Officer Musket - Untouched Condition (Smoothbore)

Decided to go that route. Really hopping it ends up being a small game getter. Do need to stock up on caps for my two Kentucky riffles anyway, just hopeful they use the same ones.

Original British Brunswick P-1841 type Early Model Officer Musket - Untouched Condition (Smoothbore)

Curious if you know which caps fit the "early 1841 officers model" placed an order yesterday for one. Wondering which caps to stock up on and if there is a known replacement nipple out there for them?

FOR SALE Richards London sxs percussion *wall hanger*

Same here, but fair warning the cracks do go down to the base of the barrels (stock end) but that was also before I could get it cleaned properly. Most likely would need new barrels or sleeve inserts installed. And hammers need attention as well as the nipples. Since getting this I picked up a...

FOR SALE Richards London sxs percussion *wall hanger*

Cracks are not visible from the outside, and they start around the halfway point back to the base of the barrels. I plan on getting bore scope and checking it out again after j clean it better (need to track down the right size bore brush) the nipples are clear, but the caps don't always go off...

FOR SALE Richards London sxs percussion *wall hanger*

Not yet, pondering keeping it and attempting to sleeve the barrels. As a member messaged and suggested that route. Have not had much of a chance to look into it any further though.

FOR SALE Richards London sxs percussion *wall hanger*

Not sure what happened to the thread, but bumping this and including username in a picture. Would be willing to do $175 shipped or partial trade for various goodies.

FOR SALE Richards London sxs percussion *wall hanger*

Hello folks, unfortunately the 16g sxs I picked up a few weeks ago is not a viable hunting or shooting arm. It seems age has caught up with it and the barrels are not usable. Bore scoping showed cracks forming around halfway down the barrels. Also discovered a live charge in one! I managed to...

    D Mulford Carbine

Well, it goes off alright. Only got a few shots in before heat and bugs sent us packing. Pattern was fairly piss poor but I definitely wasn't using a proper load. Had about 50g of FFF and about equal of some 7.5 shot. With a cardboard wad on top of powder and a couple halves of 16g wadding...

    D Mulford Carbine

I'll have to give that a go. It went kathump a couple times, but the bugs and heat kept me from playing with it more.

    D Mulford Carbine

Oh sweet, works is what's important. What sort of loads do you use in it?

    D Mulford Carbine

Awesome, thank you for the info. I'll have to do some research on locks, this is my first flinty. Plan is to forge out some knives I started yesterday (gotta wait for acceptable time to start pounding on spring steel) then to run out and test a few shots of #5 birdshot and see what sort of...

    D Mulford Carbine

Sweet, thanks for the info. I'll see if I can get out and test it tomorrow. It sparks a bit when I tested it, didn't really see how much it sent off though. Otherwise it's nice and crisp.

    D Mulford Carbine

Sweet, sure hope so. Did a little more diging and it looks like Denis Mulford was making guns in Utah or Iowa in the 80's. Saw a few different riffles made by him, but still not finding this one in particular.

    D Mulford Carbine

It's a smooth bore. Will post updates once I get it apart. Hard to find anything online, but did see that Lott locks started getting imported in the 60s and 70s.

    D Mulford Carbine

Hey all, just got back from the shop with a D Mulford flintlock carbine. Tag said it was .60 cal and it has Lott marked on the lock but no other markings other than the name Pete Allan. Really excited to test it out and hopefully take some small game with it. Anyone know any more info on it?

    Richard London 41

Yup, this would have been my 5th black powder and have shot them a little bit the past few years. Cap shortage makes it hard to take them out much.
