    Lyman Trade Rifle / GPR

I find that to be the case. My GPR seems to be a pretty good fit, while on my caplock .54 Trade Rifle it's a little difficult for me to get my (chubby) face down far enough on the stock to pick up the sights quickly. Guess that's one reason why the TR has never fired a shot.

SOLD WTS Lyman Great Plains Rifle .50 flintlock

Rob, I think that is just the perspective from which the picture was taken. Actually, the touchhole placement looks about ideal to me.

Cabela's not shipping bp guns anymore?

The problem is that it is not legal for certain states. Cabela's has to comply with a variety of state laws which differ according to the state. I had a similar experience as akaMOTU…...I did a dummy purchase right up to the CC info and all was good. This situation is the result of a hodgepodge...

    What I do during "Lockdown".

Pardon my ignorance. What is "GB"?

Cabela's not shipping bp guns anymore?

I ordered and received from them a Pedersoli Bess within the last year so I was curious upon reading this. Since I live in the (thankfully) Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I did not experience any problems. I just tried a mock (uncompleted) purchase of the brass-framed 1851 revolver just to...

    Historic videos you may enjoy!

Thanks much for these...…..very interesting and entertaining! If I may ask, where did you obtain them?

    EXPLODING BARRELS

Nobody here is "+itching". We are just discussing best practices in loading techniques for both safety and accuracy. Conversations like this are a way to learn from each other. Both you and I (and others) can profit from this.

    SOLD Anyone want this.

Too bad I can't use it, but I'm sure someone can. Just wanted to say you are very generous.

    Goex vs Schuetzen

LOL. So far, I have resisted the impulse to sprinkle my Elephant on the grass. Might kill the crabgrass though.

    Goex vs Schuetzen

I currently am using Old Eynsford almost exclusively. Have a couple of pounds Goex left that I dip into once in a while, but when I purchased my last case, the price difference between GO and OE was just around 30 cents a pound, so I went with it. Frankly, I am not anywhere near a good enough...

    Hex socketed vent liners?

Too bad.....they used to make that size, but apparently no longer. You could always make a call to them to see if they plan to restock them.

    Veteran Arms opinions

I'm sure that there may be some historical examples like Navy Arms and Miroku. As I said, the firearms made by manufacturers like Pedersoli, Lyman (Investarms), Traditions (Ardesa) come in to the country as finished products. This category would also include most military muskets sold by Dixie...

This is not accurate. Firearms made by manufacturers like Pedersoli, Lyman (Investarms), Traditions (Ardesa) come in to the country as finished products.

    Hex socketed vent liners?

    RMC-OxYoke carries one I believe. I haven't tried one yet. Here's the link : https://rmcoxyoke.com/product-category/muzzleloading-accessories/ignition-components/

    pistol capper that really works

I looked at them and thought they were nice, but hesitated because they are a tad pricey. Then I saw the really nice engraved eagle crest that commemorates the 1863 uprising against the Russian empire and they HAD ME! I put in my order yesterday.

    Yazel pistols appropriate for Forum?

I'm just asking regarding a question I've wondered about for some time. Are the Yazel pistols appropriate for discussion on this forum? I know they are much favored by the line shooters at Friendship, for whom historical accuracy is not a consideration, as accurate competition guns. However...

    CVA Spain Hawken 50

Not familiar with this design. Must be something new.

    CVA Spain Hawken 50

The breech plug on CVA/Traditions guns can not be removed as on many other barrels. The drum is threaded thru the barrel wall and into a machined recess in the plug. It is a very strong, proprietary system that many, including the manufacturers, say should not be tampered with. There are many...

    pistol capper that really works

The Ted Cash Manufacturing company has a new and improved capper that is supposed to work with all revolvers. This is the link: http://www.tdcmfgstore.com/agora.cgi?cart_id=94631301.3625851&p_id=C-SLC&xm=on&ppinc=search2
