    Rough out or Grain Out?

Hey Folks I'm currently in the process of making myself a pair of leather pants, and considering I'm poor and can't afford brain tan I am faced with the dilema of wether to put the suede side out or the grain side out. I am leaning towords rough out for the sake of at least appearing more...

    Aqua Fortis and Cherry

Has anyone tried Aqua Fortis on good quality cherry? I have some and am considering trying it just to see what I get. I plan to build a couple of stocks from it and am starting to think of some finishing options

    Horrible Day at the Range

Well...Thanks for all the input. Turns out it was a bad batch of caps. I went home pulled out a new tin and test fired 15 of them without a failure. My frist thaught was the nipple and I changed it out at the range, so i figured I had better try some new caps before I go through the trouble...

    Horrible Day at the Range

Well I took my old .45 "Grace" out to the range. I went with a friend of mine who has shown a passing interest in BP shooting but was not sure it was worth all the work. I thaught for sure going out with old grace and makein some real smoke would bring him around. Well...we arrive at the same...

Well...I got my Pedersoli Kentucky Kit

I do much prefer the nose cap on the .54, but alas it doesn't fit with my plan for this particular pistol. I'm makeing a matching pistol to my favorite .45 Penn. Rifle. I'm even gonna add a matching set of german silver inlays so it's gotta be a .45. I guess I'll just have to get creative

Well...I got my Pedersoli Kentucky Kit

Yup looks just like the pictures, guess I should have payed a little more attention before I ordered, but I think I may have a friend here locally that can fabricate me a new cap that will fit flush to the stock. If not I think I'll sand the stock down to an angle to meet the cap. In my...

Well...I got my Pedersoli Kentucky Kit

And while I am really impressed with the overall quality of all the components I detest the nose cap. The stock comes to an uprupt stop and steps down to the cap. This was something I didn't notice when I ordered it. I lookin for any suggestions on a way to make this look a little better I am...

Christened "Grace" the .45 Kentucky Yesterday

Well...The year I was born my father built a .45 Kentucky Percussion Rifle for me. Because of time issues growing up and location problem caused by moving around a lot I've never had a chance to do more than shoot targets with it few times. Until now that is. After taking it to the range for...
