    Ugly pedersoli

Nice rifle. I have one made in 1987. No engraving. Back than in the club we bought about 6 or seven of them. The barrels are good but handle loads and projectiles different. Withe 240 grain .451 Maxiballs I need 60 grain of Swiss Nr. 4 for 50 m in mine.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Tried my original Rogers & Spencer with different loads and bullets. Seems, 15 grain FFFFG Swiss powder (Nr. 1) , 20 grain grease and a .464 roundball are a good starting load for small groups at 25 m. Flyers are the shooters fault. The first shots with a clean barrel are not recorded. Seems...

Starr Carbine serial numbers issued to what unit?

Seems registering on a number of specialised forums isn't possible at the moment. CASS-City and The firing line which says you registered but need an activation mail, I am still waiting. No Mail in the junk mail. Hm, at the range I met somebody who is in reenactment and who has a Trustee who...

Starr Carbine serial numbers issued to what unit?

I have to try NSSA yet. Found some others like Horsesoldiers and a Civil War Forum which I tried first but I am bothered with not accepting my correct email-address, saying it is not a correct email-address. Funny. Try out different emal-addresses I have and hope that is not due to provider...

Starr Carbine serial numbers issued to what unit?

A search on the I-Net did not provide uh, reliable information of the general kind. Where might the information be found when a Starr carbine (.54 percussion) has beeen manufactored and to what unit it was issued if the serial number is known? (between 8000 and 8100)

Recommend 44 cap and ball revolver

LOL, than I through some comments in too. There are quite number of percussion revolvers which can be recommended though there are diffenrences. I can only say a bit for precision shooting at 25m. If you aim at the competiton at MLAIC Colt, you need an original and that is Rogers & Spencer...

    2f vs 3f

As to the Pedersoli Tryon, I know six of that Muzzleoader for target shooting which may serve as an indicator what you can experience. Four of that Tryon's are shot with the 240 grain .452 Maxiball pure lead (and some tin) 35 grain of Swiss No. 2 or 3Fg 40 grain of Swiss No. 2 or 3Fg 45 grain...

    2f vs 3f

LOL, try out. It depends on the gun and you. In my .45 Pedersoli Tryon I use 60 grain of Swiss N. 4 behind the 240 grain Maxiball at 50 m. Much better groups and less recoil than with the 55 grain Swiss No. 2. I may use Swiss No 3 with 60 grain to but Groups are not as good. In the Ardesa...

    Playing with Maxi balls

The leftmost looks like the edgesof the bands are rounded. Better would be sharp edges. Most decisive, the base must be perfect. Ever dent in the base may result in a flyer.

    Hello from Germany

Thank you for the welcome. As to differences, we differ in nomination of competitons to MLAIC and we have a 15 shot programm where every shot counts. MLAIC class Colt and Mariette is class 7.40 Perkussionsrevolver. No difference in Germany if you shoot orignal or replice (neo-classical) with...

    Hello from Germany

This corona thing is a pain in the ass. Al ranges closed, no chance to qualify for national championship I hoped so much for; flint rifle and smooth bore musket. No long bow or flat bow to be exact shooting. Field bow and 3D events cancelled on state and federal level this year. I'd better...

    Hello from Germany

Hello, Hamburg I have been there in 1981 to 1983 at Wandsbeck with the Army. Gun laws, LOL, 3d law to change the´gun laws will not effect any illegal gun or gun owner. It is complicted in a manner that you simply make a mistake and have committed an offence.

    Hello from Germany

Hm, from the last Millenium and the most liked muzzleloaders are of the time of the revolutionary war or the French revolution.

    Hello from Germany

range of CVJS Dueren, there would have been "Landesmeisterschaft" Pistol, Revolver and Flint lokc Pistol without Corona. Very bad. I had hoped to qualify for German Championship at Pforzheim with the Flint lokc Rifle and the Musket. Competiton at Mayen-Hausen is cancelled too. England, I...

Pedersoli Charles Moore Blued vs Stainless..???

As to Le Page Flint lock pistol, I have two sets of them of different production years. One barrel smooth bore, the other rifled One browned barrels and one stainless barrels. The barrels (four) are of the hooked style. On the homepage of Pedersoli only the stainless variant is shown...

Uberti Replica Remington 1858 NMA Accuracy?

The parts of the HEGE Army Maximum Match are interchangable with Originals. Same is with the Rogers & Spencer made by Feinwerkbau. And at least in Germany, a original, usable Remington Army 1858 in a conditon to be shot at World Championship can be cheaper than such a neo-classical. But the...
