    Bison with an Underhammer

Excellent. I like that underhammer that you have. I did a Google of the ranch. Sounds interesting.

    Finally: new deerhunter made meat!

Great job. Nice animal taken. Don't forget to include a picture or two of the region and area you hunt in.

    Question for the "Nawtherners"

Another trick with the Non PC chemical handwarmers is to place one at each part of the lower back by the kidneys. It will help you stay out there longer.

    Washington Elk

I wish I was in your shoes. Good job.

Ordered today! My .45 KY pistol!

I do believe you will have some fun with that at the range. Out of curiosity, what is the status of cap and ball revolvers? Are they popular in your country for black powder shooters?

    I done took the plunge.

I am sorry that the image came out so ooogly. I don't know what happened. Maybe it is the resizing on photobucket. I am anxious to play with the thing. New Years Day may be a good day to try it out. Our deer season will end on thursday so I will have time to play around a bit.

    Primitive scent control?

One thing to keep in mind is that today's scent control clothing and cover up products are geared for treestand hunting. If you think about it many people who hunt do so out of treestands or in a fixed location. You may or may not be able to move your location because the property you have...

    Another first

Congratulations. I did not realize you had such a late season. I know Connecticut has a private land turkey season that runs late but I did not realize Idaho did as well. Hopefully this spring I shall take a bird using black powder. The toss up will be whether I use a percussion cap or flintlock.

    I done took the plunge.

It finally came in the mail. I have been fondling it quite a bit during the evening.

    Can Mississippi be saved?

May I ask a blunt question? Why do more deer need to be killed? If I am not mistaken, many deer are taken in the Magnolia State. Compare the harvest statistics with a state like Massachusetts with that of Mississippi.

    19 Dec 09 Swan Hunt

We have mute swans in southern New England and it appears they are breeding more and more. I agree with others, we need a season on them. I would say two birds a year to start. After all they are not native. They are actually feral birds.

    Traditional hunting and florescent orange

Here in Massachusetts it has to be 500 square inches above the chest. So a hat and a vest is required. With all of the people in the field I would not have it any other way. I know it doesn't have the true feeling of a more traditional hunt where you wear a nice capote, etc but a police officer...

Worst ND deer season in years

Yup. The Ocean State doesn't get whacked as hard with winter as the Bay State. Where I work on the RI/MA line many of the kids who are here are from the southern part of RI. They kind of bug out at seeing the snow.

Worst ND deer season in years

The deer kill in Massachusetts is down. We had a bad winter a couple of years ago along with some misuse of additional antlerless permits. Saturday is the last day of shotgun season but I really don't feel like going out.

    I done took the plunge.

This gun belonged to a retired gunsmith. Originally it was a percussion model. He machined off the rear portion and installed a touch hole liner. So it is a semi custom Flintlock. I am excited. It will be a special Christmas gift to me, for me because I like me.

    Carrying two ML rifles

What ever state or province you live in, it would behoove you to ask a warden. It seems that some of these questions aren't answered well in the basic regulation booklet.

    I done took the plunge.

The gun is in the mail, so to speak and my camera. Well don't laugh at me too much but when I accidentally left it in my hunting vest and it went through the heavy cycle of the washing machine. I brought it back to Radio Shack to see what will happen. Soon as I get it and something to take a...

    I done took the plunge.

I just chatted with a gentleman over the phone. Soon I will be the proud owner of a flintlock shotgun. It is a converted TC New Englander in 12 guage. Finely tuned lock and milled breech . I really don't need it but for some reason I want it. When I became aware of the opportunity something...

    ML models legal in OH?

Make sure you get someting definitive. The matter boils down to the warden in the field who checks you.

    What .45 rifle for roedeer?

If I am not mistaken, much of the hunting in Germany is done from an elevated position such as a treestand or standing on the ground. I got the impression from some that you do not do much still hunting or stalking in that part of the world. If that is the case maybe the long rifle would be...
