    Underlug hole elongation...

Yes, and a very bad idea not to elongate. Listen to the professionals and experts.

    Inletting swamped barrel

That's a good technique. I did basically the same on a few guns I built 35 years ago. Nice.

    My Kibler Colonial

Nice looking rifle! Cherry would make a pretty poor ramrod as its cross grain shear strength is pretty low. Go with hickory. Generally, ramrods don’t match the stock anways

SPECIAL SELECT MAPLE Kibler Kits Move quickly!!!

We've been running these stocks and it really is some great wood. Very nice figure, nice and dense etc.

    Underlug hole elongation...

I suggest using a jewelers saw and small needle files to clean up. I have used diamond rotary tools, but they can very easily drift up and down while elongating.

Adding brass endcap to Woodsrunner patchbox.

You can anneal if you want, but it's not necessary. Just a gripe... So often I hear that this or that won't work with a kit. Let me say that most of the time it's just someone who doesn't understand how to go about a task or doesn't have experience, confidence etc. We certainly make...

Adding brass endcap to Woodsrunner patchbox.

Of course it will bend enough. Do you think I would provide something that wouldn't work?

¿Dumb question about Kibler flintlocks and WTS listings on this site?

If there are a lot of completed kits for sale, it is a reflection of how many are sold.

I wouldn't worry about chips. What makes the difference. First shot and they are blown out.

    Kibler side effect?

So I consider them to be terrible quality. Why do you think we have such differing opinions?

    Kibler side effect?

Yes, I think I should avoid forums such as this otherwise my head may just end up exploding.

    Kibler side effect?

Bill, Why would I want to argue with someone who obviously doesn't really know what they are talking about? Why would you want to argue with me given my background. Arrogance? For Real? Who are you? One of thousands who use CNC to make MUZZLELOADING stocks? Are you ridiculous. Making a...

    Kibler side effect?

As to the original question of whether others will begin to use more modern processes and equipment in kit production, I expect it will happen in time. How long, I don't know. I do know that it's not easy and takes a person with unique skills. Further, the cost of equipment is staggering. We...

    Kibler side effect?

I've seen a Pedersolli factory tour on Youtube and I couldn't believe their methods. Many of the processes seemed very archaic at best, and their equipment is dated. I don't know what their production is, but I do know that what they do make isn't worth much in my view. Just being honest...

    Kibler Fowler

I’ve been working on it. Have the barrel turning pretty much squared away and am just about ready to setup the toolpaths on the stock. We had our biggest month ever I n January so production has taken a priority. This is a good thing I guess😀. Katherine and I are going on a little trip for a...

    what sight for Kibler SMR?

And I’ll add, how hard is it to cut out and install a toe plate if you are set on one?

    what sight for Kibler SMR?

As to sights, if the standard ones don’t work for you, it’s good you change them out. We make sights that are historically accurate. To me, high sights don’t look right and this is important to me. As to a toe plate, I’m not sure the help with toe strength once the buttplate is installed...

    Kibler colonial

I think it's a waste of time given the likelihood of a problem occurring. In the unlikely case it should break, just fix it. No big deal, especially in walnut. But this is just my opinion. I try not to invent problems that haven't occured yet. I don't know about you guys, but I have enough...
