    Those California Rifles, Again

Cool photo and story. Thanks for sharing. Dang kids and their new fangle rifles. ;) At least this one is an authentic blackpowder rifle. It just loads from the wrong end.

    Tuning Locks and Triggers

I am still fairly new to muzzleloading and all I have done is clean and lube my locks. Both of my rifles have Chambers' large Siler locks. For the fellows who "tune" their locks, what specifically do you do?

    Old cans of black powder

Nice old cans you have there. @tenngun We used to let nature take its course and cull the herd. Now they are coddled and told they are victims.

You may want to try Cast Boolits or CAS City. Good luck.

    Beware GunBroker Sales

Now that GunBroker charges sales tax, there is no advantage for using them. A person could make out well in the past if they found a good price because transfer fee and shipping were offset by no sales tax.

    Yep, I'm a sissy.

I put one on my 300 Savage. It has a flat steel butt plate and it kicks like a mule. I now understand why my grandfather did not shoot it much.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Today I rust blued the steel parts for my cherry Lancaster. It turned out pretty dark, so I may rub it back slightly.

I like to see them. Our German Shepherds are not as hospitable.

    Visitors this morning

We have had a trio of does hanging around our neighborhood for months. Now they have attracted a couple bucks. One is an 8-point and the other is a spike. They were about 35 yards from my back porch. Please excuse the photo through a window and a screen.
