    Woodsrunner

Beautiful rifle. I too like the lighter finish as it shows off the wood grain. :thumb:

    Chambers New England Fowler Finished!

That is stunning. Outstanding job - especially for your first build. It will be quite a family heirloom. Noe let us know if she shoots as well as she looks.

An old Walmart rifle for eye candy.

    That is gorgeous. Wow!

    Rearranged hay rake tine.

Cool! I really like the appearance. Again, good job.

    Rearranged hay rake tine.

Very nice. Is the black hammered patina natural from the hay tine? It’s a beautiful knife.

Curly ash Kibler SMR…with some modifications

Congrats on a gorgeous rifle. I am blown away by the figure in the ash stock. Well done.

    Scottish Deer Rifle

Congrats. That is in incredible condition for 182 years old. Do you know any of its history?

    Bending a barrel

Bending a barrel could introduce a reduced diameter bore. I would suggest you proceed with caution. How much bend/flex do you think it needs?

So how many different wild meats have you killed, cooked and eaten?

I guess I am the only one dumb enough to try mud hen. Talk about nasty. 🤮

    Kibler Woodsrunner Assembly Progress

If you whisker the wood prior to using Aqua Fortis, it appears you would not need to prep much prior.

    Kibler Woodsrunner Assembly Progress

Congrats, Bnewberry. That is going to be a beautiful rifle. I am so impressed by the precision of Jim Kibler’s kits.

What I love about Powder Valley...... That's not Swiss Miss in stock, but F, FF, FFF and FFFF sure are!

They are one of my favorite vendors for smokeless and holy black. Prices are usually good.

My Apprentice and Her English Fowler

I love seeing young people interested in our hobby. So many of us are getting up there in age and this gives me hope for the future.

Cant Identify This Muzzleloader "The Conjuring"

To me, it appears the ignition was modified to percussion after the gun was originally made. There is a large flat area of wood in front of the lock plate and the plate appears to overhang the original rear mortise. The rear inletting also looks much cruder than the rest.

What’s Your Favorite Long Gun that You own.

I have only one at this time; but #2 is on the workbench. Both will be 50 cal Lancasters with 42" swamped Rice barrels and a large Siler locks from Jim Chambers. This one has a nicely figured maple stock.

Work in Progress - Big Red

I have been working on the rifle a couple hours at a time after work for the last two weeks. Most of the Thanksgiving holiday was also spent on it. I will post more pics as things progress.
