    Shotgun morning.

    Yes, they are.

    Shotgun morning.

I set the blind up last night and got back there this morning. I had with me my not Berretta percussion gun tricentenary thingy model and a 410. The muzzleloader shot first until the powder ran out. I had about 30 shots with that for about 20 birds. The 410 shot a similar amount of cartridges...

My new smoothbore was a slobbered up mess after it's first day at the range!

I'd add lube between thin cards before the ball is loaded. Then I just use copious amounts of boiled water to remove most of the fouling. Finish with a few damp patches and let it dry itself. I don't mind the crud, its part of the scene...

Tagged out on turkeys with my flintlock!

Great writing and story. Congratulations in your triumph over the conditions.

    The unthinkable!

Some say in the spirit of the law here in the UK a ball should not be used, for legal reasons surrounding being held in connection to a shotgun license here. Some say that the letter of the law does not cover ball being shot from a muzzleloader shotgun in the uk. Those that believe the latter...

Wonder Just How Many Ways Can One Load a Smoothbore...??

This here blah blah " less powder , more shot" thing..... If you put 2oz on top of 80-90 gns of powder that IS less powder, more shot. 🙄

English .28 Gauge Single Shotgun need Help

Very. When I were a lad we use to buy airgun pellets from the village bike shop. Marksman. In Tunstall another hardware store as a kid sold bows and airguns. I bet my very last dollar they would of sold shotguns pre 1968!

Don't kick much at all. Oh, and nothing gets waisted if you use 4f.

Wonder Just How Many Ways Can One Load a Smoothbore...??

Lol, brilliant. I've used 2oz in my Pedersoli trade gun and it's a serious game getter then. Your video helps dispell all the fancy fuss some folks go through trying to come up with some magic load train for a turkey hunt. Just keep it simple and tip way more shot in there than anything you've...

    The unthinkable!

Give it a go, it's grand stuff. Just use a 1/4 less than you otherwise would.

No, don't get the torch out and don't use a dowel.

    Disaster

Turn a bar muzzle internal diameter. Grind a flat so it goes in past the ding. Drill a hole across the bar. Bar needs to be 6" long or so. Fit a bar through the hole. Lubricate the mandrel and rotate with force. Clamp barrels down by the way. Use a soft mallet to finish off with mandrel still in...

3f doesn't flow through the nipple like this does. 👍

    The unthinkable!

Overloading, yep, 1oz of shot in .45 smooth rifle would have some to go weak at the knees. But let's use 4f too! That's what I did today. 60gn was a bit to much though so dropped to 50gn. Just four shots for two squirrels and a rabbit. Good times. Jess enjoyed the afternoon too.
