    Testing WD-40 against water patches. Which is cleaner?

    I seem to remember reading here that using any petroleum based products with BP would turn fouling to tar and ruin a gun. Didn't seem to have a negative effect on your bore and it made clean up much easier.

    I used the same bolts but I filled in the small slot with a welder, shaped and smoothed, and refiled the the long slot . Turned out pretty good.

    My Traditions Kentucky rifle in 50 cal. slaps my high cheek bone pretty good. More from the bench than from offhand shooting. For casual target shooting I run a 50 grain load of 3F with a PRB and bump it up to 60 grains for hunting.
