Sanded down the stock real good , whiskered it and trying some different stains on practice piece and .... DUH ! I havent put the nose band or the thumb piece on ! So ....meh .... I found the roughed out thumb piece I cut out a bit ago and ground then filed it to shape and started inletting it...- Rob M.

Go to the library and check out Hershel Houses VDO ,How to build a Kentucky long rifle . Its the best . The building books were no good to me until after I had built a couple ...this VDO is great . .. Really helped me . Best of luck- Rob M.

Repair or replace
Smart ...thats what I do too . Makes it very strong and the trigger guard hides everything ... Ive drive pins vertical , 90 degrees to the grain , up ....this is so no recoil can separate the pieces again ...ive cut a long groove and inlaid a steel rod in there ... this all depends on the...- Rob M.

Made ramrod pipes for the Carolina Gun laid out their positions , Inlet, drilled and pinned them in the ramrod channel ... Time to take the whole forestock from 2x4 form to " rough in " shape ...finally ! Been fighting me, esp. today.... coffee break first ... My stock duplicator is doing a...- Rob M.
