Cleaning that little space at the bottom of the barrel

For cleaning out the flue channel or the inside of the touchhole liner, I use the hard bristle pipe cleaners. They do an extra nice job cleaning fouling from inside that 90 degree bend. I can actually clean the face of my touchhole liner with one of those bristle pipe cleaners. Just make a 90...

    How old is this powder?

I have a couple of those blue plastic cap tins and they say navy arms on them. I see you have a T/C breechplug removing block and other nice BP accessories. The horns look nice. As long as that powder has been sealed, it will shoot. I'm sure that can has collectors value. Ohio Rusty ><>

    Bore brushing.

I use an undersize caliber brush when cleaning the barrel. For my .54, I use a .50 brush. For the .45, I use a .40 size brush. The I can wrap and much or as little cleaning cloth around the brush and scrub the barrel well. The brush sticks to the cleaning cloth so you can never lose your...

    Mutton Tallow

I find mutton tallow works well on antler and bone handled knives. It keeps natural oils in the bon to prevent cracking. I also like mutton tallow at the drill press as it makes a dandy lubricant when drilling holes in metal. Ohio Rusty ><>

    Steel

I make targets from rail plates. They give off a satisfying 'TING' when hit. They stand up well even when shooting unmentionable pistols at them. Wick is 1000% correct about using better quality steel for knives. 1080/1084 works very well, easy to forge, heat treat and temper. Someone told me...

Possible new option for a cap making tool!

I'm interested as well. I know Pat Marlin from Cast Boolits. I like how clean the cap punchouts are compared to the wrinkly ragged edges of the other cap makers. This cap maker would be quite useful. Ohio Rusty ><>

Sales of Firearms and Ammo at Flea Market

At my local Rockbridge flea market, there is a new sign up banning all ammo at the flea market. That is kinda odd as in the mall buildings on the flea market grounds there is a gun store. The ammo ban probably only applies to table vendors I guess. I only saw one firearm for sale and it was an...
