What has more effect on POI, muzzle velocity or recoil.

No, the wind didn’t affect the point of impact. The recoil had moved the barrel less with the lighter bullet. And my apologies for mentioning the wrong rifle to offer data to the discussion.

Stock inletting questions for a bozo who's never done it

First step is totally disassemble the lock, inlet the lock plate alone then add the internal parts.

What has more effect on POI, muzzle velocity or recoil.

Notice too that the recoil motion continues after the bullet leaves but that is momentum because it takes time to slow the movement down. Physics don’t change even for firearms.

What has more effect on POI, muzzle velocity or recoil.

That’s true in Hollywood, after all a Colts dragon will knock a girl over!

What has more effect on POI, muzzle velocity or recoil.

From my own experience, ..., . Not a guess or opinion just real live fire. The rifle begins recoil at the moment the bullet starts moving. Same would apply to any rifle.

I had ants getting into the feeder so I lightly coated the wire that it hangs from with heavy oil, that stopped them!

    1851 Grip Question

Finding one that truly fits would be more difficult than making it yourself. I posted a tutorial about how and have had people do a dandy job their first try. IMG_0678 by Oliver Sudden, on Flickr

    Keeping Minie in Barrel

Just an idea, place your mini base down on a 3/4” ball or marble and tap the nose gently. That will expand the base a tiny bit and could give you the grip needed. This may get you going with out changing any of your load.

    Powder Flask repair

Just the cost of a spring and a couple of minutes to install to have a flask that TOW sells for around $50 seems like a good investment.

need help with 44 cal muzzleloaded pistol loading

Just checked my 44 single shot pistol, a .440” ball sets on the muzzle. With a thin patch it would be hard to get down the barrel. I use .429” ball and a thin patch in it.

need help with 44 cal muzzleloaded pistol loading

Your 44 calibre single shot will use .430” ball with a cloth patch. The .454” ball are for a revolver and won’t fit. Your pistol will load like a rifle so anything about loading it would be like a rifle except about 25 grains of powder.
