    Contacted Kibler about Hawkins rifle.

When Jim offers a Hawken kit, you can bet it will be authentic in form and function and appearance. It will be percussion. The barrel will be at least 34" and at least 1" across the flats. It will not be like the lightweight easy-carrying rifles that is about all we've known since 1970. It will...

    Roundballs verses Conicals..??

    Well said, sir.

    How clean is your bore?

Not to say the amber coloring is not WD-40, but how do you know? I just never saw that before. Never used it on a gun but it is a great protectant for tools like pruning shears and hatchets, or loosening stuck nuts and bolts, etc.

    Roundballs verses Conicals..??

When did conicals come into use? After percussion rifles came on the scene? I've never used them but I can see the benefit on large game.

How to cut grease notches in a ‘58 Remington cylinder pin?

Me too. Ballistic or more often Moosemilk. I might be the only person alive that does a sort of cleaning every six shots. That includes cleaning the barrel with Ballistol and squirting some into the action. I'm weird that way. With rifles I clean after every shot.

    Built a Range Box..

I like it! All my BP stuff is in a large hardshell brief case. Digging around inside for whatever I need is a real chore. You done good.

    32 accuracy at 50yds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I have no use for a 32 caliber anything. That's just me though. Obviously I'm in the minority.

    Contacted Kibler about Hawkins rifle.

A percussion gun removes me from the list of potential customers, but I'm sure Jim will attain many new ones who have thus far not bought any Kiblers because they don't care for flintlocks. And I'm certain Jim knows what he's doing.

Adding an APERTURE to your glasses so you can SEE the sights!

Pete is "on target" with his advice. You can actually buy a device you attach to glasses frame which provides the hole. I've not used one for years because I discovered how well low magnification reading glasses work. I use 1.25, which is weak enough that the target is only slightly fuzzy but...

    Kibler woodsrunner

That's what I would have done. Working on the innards of a lock is definitely not my thing, especially when you shouldn't have to because it is new and I think it's always better to let the master fix it.

Anyone who has assembled that many knows everything there is to know about that product. The OP should contact you directly with details and photos.

    Hudson bay Blankets

I've got a four point I've had for many years. I keep it in a plastic ziip up thing to keep out moths. Also got a Capote made from one. Without that pointy klan-looking hood which I cut off it is a very warm garment on cold autumn days. I dearly love those blankets. Remember Blanket Brigade? I...

    Track of the Wolf

You think the hump can be knapped off? I hadn't thought about that.

    Track of the Wolf

That is good to know and the answer I need. I didn't keep the receipt nor the packaging, but I will ask for flat next time.

    Track of the Wolf

I tried twice before to post this but never saw it get through. Problem may have been on my end, don't know. Anyway: has anyone bought flints from Track lately? I ordered a dozen Black English flints for my Colonial. Each one has a very high hump, so high that the jaws screw had to be backed out...

    .36 vs. .44 "Stopping Power"

"No such thing as stopping power" has become a made up truth by gun writers. Consider the truth that when we defend ourselves with a firearm, our intent is to stop the assailant, not to kill him. Or rather that should be our intent. Some calibers hit harder than others. A hard hit produces more...
