    Question on powder charges

    70 grn of fffg & a .626 roundball in my 16 gauge put this one down.. Normally I use 70 grns of ffg.& a patched roundball.. Both shoot reasonably well in this gun.

    Thanks.. It’s hard too tell from the pics but some seem too show stress cracks.. So even if you can’t make a gun flint from it , it should work for fire kit as mentioned above..👍

    Lock Collecting?

    The last time I was there , a couple of years ago the place was needing a roof replacement… Several areas of water intrusion , especially in the museum area.. The pic shows water spots on the ceiling in the store front area, but I didn’t see any water on the floor or the accoutrements… Sad too...

    Drying your tent?

    I always wait for the canvas too dry as much as possible before taking my tent down, then I always hang it when I return home. My shop has roll up garage doors and I hang mine from those railings.. Put a fan under it overnight & the next day fold and put away..

    November Trek (Photo Heavy)

    I have a canvas bed roll I use in damp conditions.. It’s just two pieces of canvas with tie straps attached along the two long sides and across the bottom.. Lay one out flat, put your blankets on it . Then lay the second piece of canvas over that and tie the straps.. Your blankets will stay dry...
