    Arkansas Buck

    Very nice. Congrats!

How many muzzleloaders have you built

Seven, but since the Kibler isn't really a "build" but more like an "assembly and finish" it's six. Two Chambers kits on the bench now: colonial pistol in .54 and a Lil' Fella kit for my wife that I'm working into a representative Berks incorporating features from RCA #22 and #28. Have had to...

    Smoothbore grouse

Congrats. Looks like a good time. :thumb: Snow looks great. Should be hitting Minnesota in the not-too-distant future. I think the forecast has some in the air next weekend, but probably won't stick. That rabbit is bigger than a Florida whitetail!!! ;) :)

    PA success

Looks like a dandy. Congrats! :thumb:

    L. E. Williams flintlock questions

I own a Larry Williams. Unfortunately, I don't have any info on him other than I had been told he crossed the great divide. I bought mine second hand. All I can say is that of all the custom rifles I have had or do currently own, that one gets the most compliments from those that handle it...

    Pa’s Early Muzzleloader Deer Success

    Very nice doe. Congrats! :thumb:

    Southern Rifle gets it done

Maybe I'm reading something into your post that isn't there. My experience has been that it's not the projectile type nearly as much as where the hit/wound channel is. Member Roundball, who shot a LOT of deer, spent one whole season taking only the "high shoulder" shot with various calibers...

    Southern Rifle gets it done

Nice job on sticking to it even with no blood trail. Good scouting, good hunting and a great result with some fine venison there. :thumb:

    What's a Kibler SMR weigh?

No. Kiblers all have swamped barrels. Not sure what Pedersoli .36 you have, but my straight barreled Pedersoli Frontier in .36 with a 39" barrel was a bit nose heavy. The two rifles feel nothing alike.

    Muzzleloader Bull Elk, 2023.

That's a dandy! Rifle is clearly a keeper and is serving you well. Congratulations!

    First ever hunt

You mean a flintlock actually went off in the rain!!! OMG...I've heard people say that they only go off half of the time in the sun! ;) :) Good luck over the next week. I look forward to hearing the story and seeing the pics! :thumb:

    What if question

Minnesota's minimum is .40 rifled or .45 in smooth, so no. That aside, a .32 RB is a pretty small pill for a big northern whitetail

    A Flat Horn

    Very, VERY nice! :thumb:

Big deer and the .45 in hardcast

Nuthatch, you might want to strike up a PM with Skychief. He has taken absolute monster Indiana bucks with a .45 PRB and can give you pros and cons. I don't believe he used "hard cast" but his experience may give you some very good insight on the .45 on very large bodied deer. Your...

This years deer season is off to a good start

Congrats! That's gettin' it done. :thumb: Good to see a fine hunting rifle put back into service.

    Leaving Rifle Loaded

I have used one for a couple decades. Of course, NEVER have I dry balled!!! ;) 🤣 PRB or Conical...no difference. They come flying out. Even blew out one guys gun where he got distracted and double loaded. Not period correct, but a CO2 discharger is always in my kit.

    TVM Base Prices

One of our former top contributors, Roundball, had a slew of TVMs all with highly figured stocks. When he decided to sell I bought a .40 cal from him. All of them were personally made by Matt Avance. First, it was a very accurate rifle. It could shoot round ball or conicals very well...

    I did a bad thing.

Unless this was an ocean/sea/inland waterway shipment, Free On Board is not applicable. INCO terms 2020 (the latest international version): FOB – Free On Board The seller delivers the goods on board the vessel nominated by the buyer at the named port of shipment or procures the goods already...

    Had a good day.

Unless you evaporate the animal, there is no such thing as "overkill." ;) :)

    Had a good day.

Congrats! Don't see many buckshot kills posted.
