SOLD Engraved “Eversley” French & Indian War Powder Horn

It’s a beautiful horn. Perhaps the subject matter? Certainly not the craftsmanship.

Should I or should I not?

Chute it! Life’s too short not to.

    patch knife?

That’s a beautiful little knife. Original or not, it looks like it feels great in hand during long work like skinning.

    Pondering a flintlock. Educate me.

I just did 3 coats of one of the finishes I bought at Dixons Shop. I’ll get a pic of it since the name escapes me. The metal was the Kiblers metal/Jax(?)

    Pondering a flintlock. Educate me.

Mine is very basic walnut. I love the look of martial walnut stocks and that is what I was going for. Kiblers brass black for the metal rubbed back. Natural patina from there. I’m not winning any awards with her but she’s plain and simple like her owner.

    Pondering a flintlock. Educate me.

That’s exactly what I have. .45 Walnut SMR. If I can assemble it anyone can. Good luck!!!

    Flints?

I did the 5 pounds and hand select. I realized IMA is about 15 miles south of me. I pass within a few miles on my way to work a few days a week. 😀

    Flints?

Received my 5 pounds from IMA tonight. Looks like 90 useable for my NWTG, and double that of larger pieces that need work to reduce size, sharpen edge, etc. I’d say absolutely worth the $122.00 I paid just for those 90 as long as they work. I’ll test some this weekend and report back.

I remember the same. Also don’t remember where they wound up.

    Custom Revolvers

And I for one apologize to 45D for being a part of his fine post being derailed into this petty squabbling.

    Custom Revolvers

SAA yes, I agree. I’ve seen 2 or 3 at Wannmachers in Tulsa. I’m replying to the post about cap and ball.

    Custom Revolvers

I’m pretty sure I do. Colt very likely did not make them. I’m sure you’re missing the point. A respected member comes on and shows something he created. And you come along and call BS on it because you object to the word screwless and that bothers you enough to call it out. If it made you feel...

Thanks for making my point for me. 😀

Smoke at Sunrise (Pietta London Navy Update)

That’s very nice. Of course, pics of your desert range would make this thread that much better! Shooting in the desert is one of the more pleasant memories in my life when I lived in Las Vegas in the mid-90s. Being able to see your misses quickly makes you a better shot.

    Joy to the eyes

I LOVE making and shooting paper cartridges for my revolvers. Enjoy those!

    Custom Revolvers

If you can’t distinguish between a Colt SAA and a cap and ball Colt, you might need to go back to basics.

    32 accuracy at 50yds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I shot my Pedersoli .32 to 25 yards and accuracy was outstanding so I’d figure with no wind accuracy could be double the size of outstanding potentially. I think wind is the factor to 50 yards.
