    okie bp supplies

Last November while at the Wannamacher Tulsa show I bought 2000 RWS musket caps from one of the bigger gun stores in Tulsa. I can’t remember the name now but I’ll rack my brain and hopefully get back to you. A hint is that they are listed as one of the stores to buy tickets for Wannamachers...

    Flints?

I just bought five pounds from IMA. I had a $20.00 coupon for signing up. About $120.00 delivered by this coming Monday for 5 pounds I figured I’ll take a chance.

    How clean is your bore?

I clean pretty well, but far from spotless. I’m also shooting pretty regularly so it’s not sitting long. No rust issues. Regarding the bore scope; I don’t want to see how the sausage is made. 😀

    Suggestions for bag flap closure?

A thought. The lead weight can be lead balls and therefore always available if needed. Create an inner pouch sewn inside the flap.

    WANTED chamber sealant

I’m using these two, one for bore butter and one for Mobil One (arbor grease) the bore butter one is just enough where if I’m careful squeezing it does ok. As stated above, they get runny in warm weather. These are range shooters for me, not carrying (yet). 😀

    WANTED chamber sealant

Shooting in PA, I agree completely. I’m just using up this tube of bore butter then I’ll make my own with more thickness. I just like how clean my revolvers stay when using it but admit I have not shot without it to test.

    WANTED chamber sealant

I use bore butter in syringes I get either free or buy online cheaply. When I run out of this tube of bore butter I’ll make my own. The finer tip helps deposit just a small amount of lube on top of the ball. Hope this helps.

.310 ball in Uberti Colt 1849

The accuracy was excellent! 10 yards standing one hand just below the bull maybe 4”. Thanks.

.310 ball in Uberti Colt 1849

I had one .310 ball sitting loose in my box. I wanted to see what it would do patched with pillow ticking. About 10 yards. I’m also testing short video clips. I hope I don’t mess anything up.

    Flintlock howdah?!

I have the cap version and love it. I would love to have this version as well but the price keeps it at bay for now.

Testing strange objects using a smoothbore per a viewer's request:

Interesting use of the lock bolt in that one shot. It really does show the incredible versatility of the smooth bore. Great video once again Mark.

    How old are ya?

I’m 55. Not sure if I already posted here. (Age-related forgetfulness) First BP experience was a ROA purchase at Dixon’s 25 years ago and flirted briefly back and forth with unmentionables until about a year ago where all I shoot now is BP. I’m pretty certain I’ll stay BP-only from here on out...

The Colt Open Top Hammer Sight

Taking your ideas further, I used a second screw to create a sight base. The screw head was drilled through and cut off the shaft. I then drove the upside down head over the first post I made from another screw. This formed a base of sorts. My reasons: stability and protection of naked post by...
