    Kibler kits lead time?

I emailed them two weeks ago asking about a wood’s runner and they emailed back and said one week to a month. I placed my order for one a week ago. I also have a Fowler order placed at the end of July.

    Aqua Fortis

Thank you Sir for your opinion, I hope to get the woods runner in a week or two.

    Aqua Fortis

Yes, this definitely makes sense. I will be working on a plain maple stock and I am looking for a dark rich color. I have no experience with this type of staining but I figure that two coats of aqua fortis and some cherry stain applied after the AF, I will get the finish that I am after. I am...

When applying a second coat of aqua fortis, do you heat the first coat before adding the second coat, or just add the second coat then heat?

Nice wood! I really like that style of lock face and hammer. That rear sight is set up perfect for my eyes.

    What Remington 1858 to Buy?

I am a Uberti fan and I like their revolvers. My brother has a Pietta 1858 Remington and he is very happy with it. Cost can be a important factor.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Couldn’t shoot today, I had to take my sick dog to the vet. I am patiently waiting on a 20g Kibler Fowler, so what was I supposed to do? I just ordered a Kibler woods runner in 45cal. A great day after all!

You can’t send that coffee maker back now that you shot the box full of holes! Flintlocks rock! Enjoy the fun!

Using .390 RB in my ASP new model navy "1858 remington navy"

I shoot a .40cal flintlock so I have plenty of .390 round balls. I tried them in my Uberti 1851 Navy but they required too much force to load so I will stick with .375’s.

    what brand barrel?

I have three long guns with Getz barrels, 40cal rifled, 60cal rifled, and a 10ga smoothie. They all shoot better than me and they clean up nicely.

    BIG Bores???

I have a New England Fowler in 10 gauge. I don’t hunt anymore but I enjoy shooting rbs.

    Packing Peanuts as Wadding?

I try to keep my loading stuff as period correct as possible.

Controversial question. Short rodding a patched ball.

Back in the late 70’s I short loaded a rb in my CVA Mountain rifle. I bulged the barrel about 4” from the muzzle. It was a light bulge and I didn’t even notice it until years later when I sold the gun. It shot great with the bulge and I even won a turkey shoot with it.
