SOLD - Pending funds AMR,12ga SxS, percussion - Reduced

The maker mark is right on the barrel. AMR, out of Spain. Old company that I don't think is even around any more. The Spanish make fairly good muzzle loaders and have for a long time.

Raw wool instead of flax tow

nobody is going to say option A is the superior to option B if no one is using option B. To do so is silly and to dismiss the idea option B was actually ever used because you don't have someone specifically saying 'we used option B' is myopic. People MUST have been using raw wool or the author...

Do you think that modern ML firearms have any investment value?

guns are like silver, it is a way to hold value but not a good way to make money a TC Hawken in good condition will always have value, but it will never really become such a hot item that it increases in value

IS THIS A SAFE SHOOTING BARREL?

Looks solid, but I always remote fire a new to me firearm the first time and I do it with a stout charge. Not saying do a full proofing load, but a tester is always a good plan. But on casual inspection it looks solid.

    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

Stinks when stuff like this happens here. But as you can see a member stepped up to help with out consideration of compensation. While there are bad apples even here, the rest of the membership seems to more than make up for the bad ones. I have bought/traded a few times on this forum and have...

FOR SALE Looking for 54 Cailber Maxihunter bullets

Probably will have to get a mold and cast your own. I haven't seen a box of TC Maxi-Hunter in any caliber for about 5 years. They don't make them any more and what was for sale for a while was old stock.

Flintlock or percussion for a first purchase?

As a new shooter of Black Powder firearms I would recommend percussion. I have seen flintlocks frustrate newbs to the point of giving up. Flintlocks are not as hard to figure out as some seem to make it be, but in a world filled with folks used to instant gratification a touchy lock and an...

I have to rethink the spare cylinder idea

Common or rare??? What is the metric one would use to state a thing was common or rare? WalnutRed has a solid point. Cylinders have been found sans a gun leading to the suggestion it was a spare. And enough have been found in various places to show it wasn't a singular individual. Therefore...

Raw wool instead of flax tow

"That thing no one is doing....yeah don't do that." doesn't add up, no one says that option B and C is much better than option A if no one is doing option A, folks would just look at the person saying such a thing like they were really stupid.

Raw wool instead of flax tow

I saw the OP and I read the thread and it devolved into an argument. And the evidence that it was used is indeed in the text quoted by the simple fact the author indicates that hat felt and soft brown paper are the superior choice to wool. Thus indicating wool was used enough for the author to...
