What are your favorite Thompson Center (T/C) Percussion guns?

Buckeye carbine was put out by Cherrys Sporting Goods in Ohio (Ohio Buckeyes), via TC. Think white mountain carbine with a 2”shorter barrel. Came with a rear peep, and all round barrel. The one I have is the only one I’ve ever seen in person.

What are your favorite Thompson Center (T/C) Percussion guns?

I've had one of each of just about every one. Whole collection at one time. Now, I have a Cherokee, a Seneca, and a buckeye carbine left. Can't seem to part with them.

    Handgun Questions

I'm far from an expert on cap/ball revolvers, but I'm 100% certain that those aren't Remington copies. Can't imagine any "expert" offering that advice.

A couple of rifles that need some love

I don't run anywhere anymore. Arthritis has me feeling like I have a 5lb block attached to each foot. One of those muzzleloaders with the OP should be saved for a winter project.

    Kibler Fowler available.

I'm not sure I could accept that from any other company, and certainly not any government agency. But having dealt with Mr. Kibler, I will take him at his word.

    SOLD T/C Flintlock Renegade .54

That is exceptional wood for a TC. Possibly a Fox Ridge special?

    WANTED WTB TC Seneca .32

One of our members stumbled into a 32 Cherokee a few months ago. I believe he paid $60 for it, sixty dollars. It wasn't mint, but it cleaned up pretty nice. I couldn't believe it when he brought it to my house to show me. I just don't find deals like this, but they are out there.

    Chestnut?

Still a few standing in my neck of the woods. Never heard of one in a gunstock, but they make beautiful cabinets.

    CVA Trapper Shotgun Question

I bent (with heat) a tine from a metal leaf rake, and tightened it down under the thimble to fix a friends gun . She ain't purty, but she keeps the ramrod in place.

    THIRD ANNUAL NY-VT BORDER SHOOT

Talked about it with a friend a few months ago and then forgot. Would be nice to attend one of these days. I'd fit right in with that rogues gallery. 😁

Why no black powder hunting personalities

I was trying to think of Millers name. I could picture him with his Hawken stalking the hills of Wyoming. Don't know that his show is on anymore but it was pretty good.

Well, here’s my woodsrunner (pic heavy)

A friend of mine ordered his SMR with low grade wood. I'd love tonhave the stock on any of my guns. Yours is another example of this. Beautiful stock. I can only imagine what the high grade stuff looks like.

SOLD .62 North Star smoothbore reduced

While I'm no expert, researching the gun I had with the hunters star touch mark on the inside of the lock plate, the quasi experts all claimed that is the easiest way to identify one of Curleys guns.

Rehardening frizzens - one size fits all? Musings for metallurgy masterminds....

I've only done it during the winter when I already had a fire going in the fireplace. 2 birds with 1 stone. Usually a bit of scotch involved in the waiting process on a cold winter night

Welcome from upstate NY. Why would you ever move here if you had a choice?

Rehardening frizzens - one size fits all? Musings for metallurgy masterminds....

Never had any luck with cherry red. I have wrapped the frizzen in leather, stuck it in a soup can packed with leather and put it in the glowing coals of a fire for an hour. Then drop it in a tub of cool water. This technique was shared with me by someone older than dirt who said that the way...

    White Deer

My take away from your post is that we lose more farm land to another damn solar field. Those things are everywhere in my area. Wonder how much farm land we can lose before it .negatively impacts wildlife and our food supply.

    Gardening ..again
