Help ID Half Stock Percussion Rifle

That wear plate under the forend makes me wonder if the drill for the ramrod got off track. Wouldn't be the first time something like that got covered up with an ornate plate. Beautiful gun though, builder had skill. You might also try American Longrifle Forum for info on the gun. There seem...

    W.m.large barrell

I have a similar barrel, but with the 4J stamp. I have also read that the 4J indicated a premium or more accurate barrel, but who knows. Mine is set in a very well done Sante Fe Hawken style gun with Roller lock and triggers. It's the shining star in my collection. Not sure it's ever been...

WITHDRAWN 62 Caliber Northwest Trade Pistol, Flintlock, Smoothbore, Sitting Fox on Lock and Barrel

I’m not an expert, but I believe Curleys touch mark on the inside of the lock was the hunters star. I can’t quite tell what the symbol is inside the lock. Someone did a good job aging this one.

Oh dear, this is not MY Canada......

By the time enough people realize the mistake, the people who now support more controls that is. It will be too late. Too late for Canada and the US. Freedom is an illusion that covers up the permissions that government bureaucrats and elites temporarily allow us.

    Build a N.W. Blanket Gun

I love short guns. Rob, is there room to park my truck and camper in your yard? I'll bring the coffee, or scotch, your choice.

White Ash stock? Bob Roller is an encyclopedia of info, especially with regard to those who have already gone to the happy hunting grounds.

    Thanks USPS

The overall system doesn't impress me, with their delivery issues. But the young lady (an I mean young) at the local post office counter is a joy to interact with. She's friendly even when the customers aren't. Not sure where she's from, but I don't think it's around hers, friendly isn't in...

    Springs from scrap iron

I had a sear spring break a couple years ago. Couldn't find a replacement. Ended up reshaping part of the coil spring from a mousetrap. It works and it's still in there.

Making Barnett N.W. gun for Ricky

You're lucky you live so far away. Otherwise, I'd be lurking in your shop every morning with a cup of coffee, watching your builds.

I Told a Big, Fat Lie a Couple of Weeks Ago

Call it hunters maturity, you don't feel the drive to kill everything you see. Ive started passing on small bucks, which is dumb in my area, if you want meat. Generally don't even see a buck so passing on one can be bad. But it's done and I don't regret it. I find it enjoyable to watch them...

It’s a great day to be in the woods!

It's comforting to see that I'm not the only one with infirmities. I had a small brain stem stroke less than 2 years ago that fried my balance. Add significant arthritis in my legs and I thought I was done in the woods. While I can't hunt like I used to, and I'm not confident going way back...

    Laurel Mountain Browning

I believe Mr kibler recommends dabbing it on instead of whipping. I used several of my wife's makeup removal pads to apply it. Hung the barrel from a coat hanger hook and slobbered it on.
