Inconsistency

Noob issues
Might try weighing your projectiles also anything more than a grain lighter than the heaviest one should be culled..... Also as has been mentioned I've experienced patchy accuracy with light loads.- CapPopper

Triple 7 and Pyrodex ?
My .50 shoots great with Pyrodex but the clean up sucks....Everytime I hear someone say it's the same as black I have trouble believing it .....maybe it's just my gun but with Pyrodex Ive got to clean it 3 days in a row and usually end it scrubbing it out with steel wool to get the rust to stop...- CapPopper

Frying venison & the game warden,,,,
Dad always has called it silver. My grandpa has been a butcher his entire life and we learned from him. Got to age them it makes the taste more mild and the meat more tender. Deer done right is an entirely different experience.- CapPopper

Congrats! I always split the pelvic bone with my knife and pull all that stuff out before I even start to open the deer abdomen. Gets the hard part out of the way before I'm all bloody.- CapPopper

It's ordered .58 cal smoothbore colonial w/o patchbox with cherry stock. Maybe if the heavens align I'll be able to have it for this year's primitive season. Gun season starts this Monday and I've already got the .50 ready to put in work. Thanks again guys!- CapPopper

Well wife ok'd my purchase! Looking at the approximate trajectory of a .575 round ball I cannot see even dreaming of shooting past 75 even if I'm getting 2" groups there. Drop numbers go up real fast past 75. So worrying about much range seems fairly pointless. So I think I am going to go...- CapPopper

.025 pillow ticking?
The only thing with using the ratchet on the mics (unless it's a type I'm unfamiliar with) is that you are not getting a compressed measurement..... You need them good and snug cause fabric density can vary..... If you don't bear down on it a bit you can get 2 materials that measure the same and...- CapPopper

Maybe I should add I have a .50 that will shoot 2" groups at 100 with a minie so it's not like it will be my only gun..... The .50 is just a modern design capper that has plastic on it (just the butt but still....) And shoots better than me despite the rather neglected bore..... I'm trying to...- CapPopper

Flint is magical..... Having trouble shooting anything else..... Going to have to build a flinter to gun hunt with cause I don't think the .32 is a great idea.... .38 cal minimum here- CapPopper
