    Do you gut your deer?

Karen, Spin it whatever way that coddles your fragile feelings, sooths your irrational emotions, and helps you sleep at night.

    Do you gut your deer?

Karen, Not at all simple, just accustomed to a routine occurrence around these parts. Guess you missed the part where I stated what the GW did stopping by our gutting party one evening. Surely glad I don't live where irrational fears dictate the life we live. If you weren't putting me or my...

    Do you gut your deer?

Yep. We gut where we kill depending where it is but will haul em closer to the road and gut. I'm not totally convinced a gut pile ruins a good spot but why take the chance. Admittedly, gut piles are generally gone by the next day. For carcasses after processing we have what we call "the bone...

    Do you gut your deer?

Aside from cooling far quicker than 3 hours being more properly done by any reasonable measure, how do you remove the inside tenderloins (sweet meat) if you're not gutting?

    Do you gut your deer?

Dear Karen, If you've never killed a deer within minutes of last legal light, and gutted in the dark, then you've never hunted much. Here, legal light is until 30 minutes after sundown, and dark quickly follows. Had a game warden stop by one time seeing us gut a doe in the headlights out by...

    Do you gut your deer?

My two sons gutting a pile of deer in the headlights, i would think, speaks for itself. Pay to gut one? That ain't how it's done around here. Processing them either. First I enjoy doing it, second I want to know the hands that's been on it, third we couldn't afford to hunt if we had to pay...

    Correcting a 44 inch barrel

If you watch the Williamsburg documentary about Wallace Gussler master gunsmith, he straightens his hand forged barrel by eye with a hammer and an anvil.

    Worth it to save it?

If I were you, this is where I would start. Get stumped on something, ask questions here. Plenty of building experience that will help you through any of it. Get that rifle shooting and looking good with your own two hands, and you will have gained tons of experience.

    Poor Man's Bore Light.

Probably not logistical at a gun show but all I do in my shop is push a clean white patch down to the breech plug and shine a light down the bore. This lets you see the last couple of inches of breech area where a battery won't. To retrieve the patch use a patch worm. This works on...

    Might have a ball stuck...

I just have to shake my head. 1) know where your ramrod is on an unloaded barrel. 2) if ANYTHING is inside that barrel then the ramrod will not reach that point. 3) if there's a ball stuck in a barrel, how on earth can ANY air possibly pass through the barrel from flashole to muzzle? Not...

    MeatEater's American History The Long Hunter's (1761-1775)

Ok, so help me out here. If I pay for this on Google Play Store, does it show up on my phone like an installed app that I can open and close like any other app? And can I pick up with it wherever I leave off? I want to understand the format before buying. Never did an audio book before.

Anyone here do the shooting matches there, or other events? Only a couple hours from me here in Virginia and fairly close to my son in Elizabethton TN. How big of an affair is it? https://tnstateparks.com/parks/david-crockett-birthplace
