    Ducks, Dogs, and Muzzleloaders

Today was a grand day. I have a Border Terrier that I do all the things with - AKC Rally, Scent work, and Earthdog events. These little dogs trace their origins to the Border Between Scotland and England in the 18th century. They were bred as working dogs. Today my little dog Rio would have made...

    12 bore build almost finished

I shoot a 12 bore English Sporting rifle. I use a lubed felt wad over the powder and an .018” pillow ticking patch in my barrel for best accuracy. I could not imagine touching off 275 grains. I hunt with 90-120 grains of Swiss 2F. 90 grains gives excellent accuracy for me. I keep my shots...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Got a bag set up with all the things I need for my new 20 gauge SxS. Filled and adjusted my Hawksley flask as well as my shot snake so it throws the correct charge of powder and shot. Now I need to go aggravate some ducks…

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

Thanks to everyone that responded to my ad. I found a nice little 20 gauge that seems unfired - and it was close enough to home to have a face to face meeting. I brought it home this afternoon.

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

Thanks. I have gone back and contacted a few folks. You’re right - one will show up. I commented mostly just to bring this back up the page. I also though a few of us that have been around would chuckle at the “good ‘ol boy from Texas” remark.

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

I've only heard from that guy here in my home state of Texas that scams folks out of money. I'm hoping one of y'all with a nice shotgun in the safe will consider letting it go. I plan to get out and hunt ducks dove and other assorted flying game birds. I have a single barrel but have decided a...

    CLOSED Pedersoli 12 Gauge SxS

I’m looking for a really clean Pedersoli SxS in 12 gauge. I’m interested in one with fixed chokes and chrome lined barrels. I’d also consider a 20 gauge. I’d love one with browned barrels but blue will work too. PM me with what you have.

    Pedersoli Deluxe Shotguns

I'm just curious if anyone here has seen or handles either the Pedersoli "Old English" "Maple" SxS or the Extra Deluxe SxS shotguns? They seem out of stock and no backorder everywhere I have looked.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I have no difficulty believing this. Back in the days of grass ropes and wood plank fences we found a bull of ours that had an abscess on his jaw. He was a Hereford bull as you say, “calm as a pup”. We ran him up the chute and butted his head against a post - made a few wraps around his horns...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I grew up in a ranching family and made my living ranching for over 20 years. I was always amazed at the raw strength of a full grown bull.

Strange Day for Me in the Woods.

I had two thoughts while out in the woods today. #1 I saw 4 bucks chasing a very tired doe - but she wasn’t ready for the boys. Three of the bucks were very nice. I drew a bead on one and thought “bang” in my head - but let him go. How would any of us like it if we were in pursuit of a little...
