    What is the reasonable distance to quickly kill a turkey with a muzzleloader?

    If I’m using a shotgun I want them inside 35 yards. ML or smokeless matters not to me. If I think they’ll be farther away, I use my .40 flintlock.

    I use my rifles mostly for hunting. That means I like to carry them for days at a time without shooting them. I do get to carry them, rub them, look at them, and feel connected to the past. I go to organized shoots to hang out and talk to like minded folks, then look at their guns for a while.
