I'm guessing nobody has made one. 😔

    Why only one?

I have a crossbow, but I agree with you. They should only be used by those not capable of drawing a bow. My wife, daughter, and son have a form of Muscular Dystrophy which prevents them from shooting a bow. One of which can no longer shoot a long gun. My crossbow is used only by them on our...

    .36 Colt Navy that powerful??????

I did with a 1858 .44 early season. But after the testing I did to get ready for the shot I wouldn't try it with a .36 personally. But within limits it would be capable. Now I gotta go get me one and do some testing! 😁

    Why only one?

I actually have 2 of these that you speak of. And I'm 100% with you! Mine only burn BP, but they only make it to the range until regular rifle season. Even then, they are usually only used for longer range shots at my brother's. That's just a preference for me. But yes, ML season should only be...

    Why only one?

That's the case in Bama. You have to use the ML for hunting. But it says in the regs that this does not prevent t a hunter legally carrying a pistol for self defense while hunting.

Black powder shooting clubs/reenactments in the Tennessee area?

I was in the same boat, with the exception of having a 50 yd range on my place. So last fall I put out an invite to the folks on the forum to come over for a day. We enjoyed it enough we're gettin together again in June. Last fall we had 3 from the group plus a couple of extras that go...

    Want to see some DIY!

As a kid I loved all of the old classic movies and books. Swiss Family Robinson, old Dan'l, Davie, old yeller, Tom n Huck, they were all my friends. Anything that spawned an adventure for me, I was all in! I've run the gambit hunting using archery, air, modern etc... But now I'm into BP. My...

    Yes, 200 grain.

    Conical bullets

I shoot a Pietta 1858 Remington. My regular loads are 30 grains of 777 3F, followed by a dry wad, then either the libed bullet or a roundball with crisco to seal and lube. My paper cartridges and plinking loads are 25 grains of powder. The bullets used are .454 roundball, Lee R.E.A.L 200 grain...

    Pistol for edc?

I have unmentionables and I have an 1858. It has been loaded since mid November with my hunting (most accurate) load. I find I carry it about as often as the rest of my primaries combined (I always have an unmentionable backup). I mentioned how long it has been loaded because I just walked down...

    .45 Caliber: Deer?

I agree! This is my shot of choice with any weapon at any range. My 1st deer this year was a small buck with an 1858 Remington at 25 yds. That shot dropped it where it stood. The bullet was recovered just under the hide on the opposite side. But, I took my time to learn the limitations of the...
