    Accuracy standard

I'd say it depends on a number of factors. Some muzzleloaders are quite capable of it in the right hands but some guns will never be capable of it. One thing I do insist on is using group size at a known distance when discussing accuracy. Just saying "I can kill deer" or "I can hit a gong"...

    Sharps failures. Suggestions?

The flash hole in the nipple is critical. An eroded nipple or enlarged flash hole can easily lead to misfires. Let's correct a few things here- there is NO bolster on a Sharps. It's a Falling block unlike a regular muzzleloader there is NO "clean out" screw on a Sharps. It's a hole that must...

Need help with 1858 Enfield clone.

Did you ever find out your bore size? The pix posted are prime examples of what happens when the bullet isn't sized properly, especially when the Rapine is suddenly the ticket and nobody else is close. Check the diameters of the bullets as cast and that should at least give you an idea of where...

    Decisions.

I can pretty much tell you that- YES, you will have to learn to cast to make Civil War arms shoot well. As for commercial sources for those bullets- there's one and only one- Lodgewood. Track, Log Cabin, et al, are NOT specialists in military guns of the period and as such whomever is casting...

    Rapine Trash Can availability?

The "trash cans" cannot tolerate much sizing. You need to find one pretty close to the size you want.

Church of the Holy Black old time Tent Revival

Rain or shine, the Wee Beastie can be summoned forth to do the work of the Holy Black And upon it's arrival, the Wee Beastie can begin it's solemn work upon the targets which do not find favor in the sight of the Holy Black And it leaves a special mark upon those targets not finding favor-----

    2f vs 3f

    You got that backwards
  17. dave951

    2f vs 3f

Trick question. They both burn at the SAME RATE!!!!!!! The difference is the 3f has more surface area exposed to ignition than 2f leading to a faster pressure rise.
