Lyman Deerstalker Hunting Peep Sight Suggestions

I have a williams peep down the barrel on a SMR. I also added a Merit adjustable aperture and I think that really helps. I prefer the tang sight, but the barrel peep works.

Barrel weights according to Jim Kibler

I dont have my woods runner with me, but the SMR is 44 inches long and 7/8 at the end of the barrel. It was made last year, so it is marked green mountain 1/70. I just shot the SMR offhand practice. I really swear it is quicker than the woodsrunner. I can shoot the SMR way better offhand...

Barrel weights according to Jim Kibler

My maple SMR in 45 is 6 pounds 2 ounces. My maple Woodsrunner is 7 pounds 6 ounces. Both have aperture sights, so that may add an ounce or two. They are radically different. I can offhand shoot the SMR better. For my hold, it is steadier. I just started using the woodsrunner, and I have to...

    Flints

I just bought 50 from stonewall creek outfitters. I think they were 95 and 15 shipping. They only had french in 7/8, so that is what I got. I think the quality is pretty good, but not perfect. This is my 3rd batch from them. https://www.stonewallcreekoutfitters.com/flints/

    SOLD William target tang sight

New in package Williams tang sight for hawken. I think this fits TC Hawken, but I am not sure. Please see pictures. This one has the target knobs. I think these are in short supply. I paid 79 plus 11 shipping and that is what I need. I can do paypal FF, but prefer USPS MO. You can also...

Colonial Kibler on the way. Being followed by a Woodsrunner

I just got my woodsrunner in 54 finished. It shoots a 530 ball with a 0.015 patch pretty well, but I think the 0.018 patch is a bit better. Both are easy to load. I am loading 50 grains or 80 grains 3F goex. I tried 40 grains 3F, but 50 seemed better. Pan powder is 4F Goex. I bought one...

    Jim Kibler Woodsrunner

I have a similar case from the other flintlock forum. It is pretty nice and easy to use, but I like the Unique case for the rod storage option. I might have my wife sew a rod sleeve on the case after she recovers from carpal surgery.

    Jim Kibler Woodsrunner

I called both number of the Unique rifle case company, and both were disconnected

    SMR Photos Please

I am pretty sure that it is standard wood? Like I said I bought it preassembled by Jim, and that preassembly was 700 bucks, so he may does not mess with marginal wood. Anyway is is like a wand. Only 6 pounds 2 ounces in 45 caliber. Amazing fast, reliable, and accurate. I had barrel mounted...

    Pedersoli locks bad?

Jaeger is poop. Cost 250 to get running with Brad. He replaced **** and other magic.

    Rear sight

I wrote earlier in this thread concerning TC or Pedersoli tang sights on a Woodsrunner. I initially tried a .450 high sight, but the TC aperture stem was not tall enough. At 25 yards Ithe stem was maxed out, and I was at POI. So I changed the front sight to .323 and that put the aperature...

    Rear sight

I am finishing a Woodsrunner, and I slapped on a set of Thompson Center tang peeps. I also have a set of Pedersoli ghost ring sights that look like they will fit same holes. Pedersoli is shown off the rifle. I used the tang barrel screw, and a wood screw in the stock. So no tapping necessary...

Lyman Deerstalker Hunting Peep Sight Suggestions

PA allowed peeps, maybe 15 years ago, maybe more. Way back, it was ball only too. In October, they allow percussion and inlines for doe for a week. That season you can even use scopes.

    My finished Kibler SMR

I used 2 coats of iron nitrate. Then 6 coats of Minwax Tung Oil. No wax. Fire blued the metal. This was a partial build by me, because I paid Jim to pre-assemble the rifle. I don't know if he does that anymore. Anyway it was easy to finish because Jim did such a good job. I also fire...

SOLD REDUCED PRICE - TVM Late Lancaster in 54 caliber SOLD to Robert

Deer season starts here soon, so I won't have internet service hunting. So I'll be ending the sale in a few days because I can't monitor the web page.

SOLD REDUCED PRICE - TVM Late Lancaster in 54 caliber SOLD to Robert

It weighs 8 pounds 10 ounces on my kitchen scale. I measured from front trigger to center of the buttplate is 14 1/4 inches, and the rear trigger about 13 1/2 inches. It is TVM standard length, but the stock has wood upgrade. Without the wood upgrade, the price is 2400 today, and I think...
