My advice to India gun buyers

Well said, most like to compare with a hand built gun at 3+ times the price. It isn't a fair comparison.

Weight of Military heritage fusil & northwest trade guns

I would like to see some pictures of early original fusil locks if you have them.

Weight of Military heritage fusil & northwest trade guns

I guess you need to compare in person. The frizzen will be considerably wider as well as shorter. Something very difficult to see on a side profile. It's just an earlier style is all.

    Sweat

When you have climate control, not to be confused with climate change productivity increases.

I was referring to the fusil. Sorry autocorrect turned it into fusion and I didn't catch it. The fusil lock looks nothing like their trade gun lock.

Weight of Military heritage fusil & northwest trade guns

Something to consider regarding the fusion that is offered by middlesex/veteran/loyalist has a lock with a lower wider unbridled frizzen that is more correct for an earlier time period. If you are looking for an earlier fusion with a more correct lock india or rifle shoppe parts sets are your...

    India Barrel Failure

Looks like an attempt at bad mouthing guns out of India. With tens of thousands of these guns of various styles many of which are in the hands of inexperienced shooters there should be countless failures and accidents. Every failure I have seen this included can be contributed to operator...

Sorry no Facebook as I do not approve of their antigun stance.

Authenticity of Veteran Arms Brown Bess Muskets

There is as Dave stated animosity toward me in this thread. In the past there have been disagreements. There have been threads where I have demonstrated before, after, results ect. Most people that offer anything positive regarding pieces from India take a lot of flak and in the past I...

    India Barrel Failure

Looks like something wrong or the "powder" wasn't black powder.

No interest in selling here, I have other sources to sell thru. I prefer to sell/trade in person. There are countless posts and pictures of what I have built, im sorry you missed them. Most of what I do is earlier time period and most of the people here are into more modern weaponry.

Sales of Firearms and Ammo at Flea Market

Eliminate private sales and prevent anyone under 18 from owning a gun and you have effectively ensure that is under 18 now would be a felon without paperwork. No more passing guns down to your kids.

FYI I did not request it rifled nor the other one I have. Please don't make claims about me that you don't know about.

So to steer things back on topic regarding comparison of different guns and accuracy. Nick is referring to the Murdock kit from TRS that comes with a rifled barrel. While historic Murdock are smooth bore TRS has theirs rifled. On the other hand they do have the correct sear. This illustrates...

Authenticity of Veteran Arms Brown Bess Muskets

I don't care if you "verify" or not. I have nothing to prove to you. It does make me curious why you would trust someone's opinion on something they have never seen to determine whether it is fact or fantasy. I recently (past year) had a thread regarding the tuning of an india flintlock and...

Authenticity of Veteran Arms Brown Bess Muskets

The point of creating a reliable test is so you can measure results. This allows for a better judgment and comparison than an opinion. I can think of no reason Jess would be looking over any Indian built pieces I have tuned. As that and the comparison between brown besses being the current...

Authenticity of Veteran Arms Brown Bess Muskets

Absolutely I work on them, I make them work reliable. I don't try to rebuild them that is a waste of time and energy. Tuning them to work reliably is a fairly quick process. There are people that can't afford a custom built piece so these guns are their only option. When I tune a lock for...
