Flint works loose after multiple shots

If you notice there is a section of the **** that is cut away behind the top jaw screw. This is for the leather, punch a couple holes in thinner leather and run the screw thru the leather. This locks the leather into place. Many lock builders incorporate the void without knowing why it is there.

    Only one gun allowed!

The assumption typically is that it would be used for hunting/survival however it might be totally different results if it's just for fun.

    Only one gun allowed!

So no blunderbuss or cannon options? I have one im building combination 50 rifle, 62 smooth, and 38 rifle. For a single piece that would be my choice.

CLOSED Cased queen Ann pistols new price. Pair or single

My first thought was pendersoli but pendersoli doesn't have a turn off barrel. Or at least every one I've seen didn't. What's their story, embellished pendersoli with new barrels?

Sometimes you forget that you can just start over

I have done this on many, often letting it sit overnight before rubbing back. Sometimes as part of the rubbing back I'll tumble the lock parts in walnut shell, works wonders for getting in those little places.

    Crack in Becky’s Frizzen

You could try welding then treating with kasenit or cherry red. Or putting a shoe on it. Another is to tig with piano wire. If you are going to replace it regardless there's no harm in trying.

How many shots in a row without picking or wiping pan ?

Testing a lock without powder in the barrel (without a blast out the vent) my record without any cleaning is 69 before a misfire.

    Get your deer tested

We have cwd in our country and the result is a better hunting season with increased limits. Sort of runs contrary to banning hunting. None of my hunter friends are the slightest bit concerned. Like with cwd it isn't about whether or not it's real or bad. The truth in both instances is that...

    And it begins...

If needed you can add to or reshape your side plate. A small oxygen account torch and brazing rod is the ticket. Work a "drop" in at a time removing the heat just when the plate melts. Don't be afraid to build it up as it is easy to grind/sand down.

Do you have to do an FFL transfer of a muzzleloader in Va. ??

How does this relate to calibers over .50? I was sure the atf had something about over 50 being a destructive device or ??? fortunately muzzleloaders were exempt as they aren't "classified" as firearms.

This is true. It has been good to see that india has maintained true by retaining the half **** on their pieces.

    Teach the children muzzleloaders

There are some out there. . .I'm working on a 1640s french rifle for him now. I may use an adjustable stock so it can grow with him.

    Flints

Messing with the toe you can make a frizzen pop up at first contact or make full contact all the way. It's crucial that the toe work with the spring pressures (main and frizzen) as they all work together. Tweaking can be an art, and when it's dialed in its simply beautiful.

    Flints

The other key factor is how the toe of the frizzen engages the spring. Much can be done tweaking this and much can be screwed up VERY quickly.
