Question on pedersoli Charleville vs 1795 Springfield

Of those of you who have owned or handled both, is there any differences other than the lock plate markings? In the pics ive seen it looks like maybe the comb has a slightly different shape, maybe? Ive been looking for a Charley but if the 1795 is near identical, maybe i should go with that...

By all means do it if you want. A 1795 carbine would be cool.

    A Pedersoli Brown Bess Kit

New guy question here, wouldnt it be better to shorten or use a shorter plug so the chamber area was nice and flat and easier to clean?

    Brown Bess Carbine

Baraccudadave I think you did a great job! I like the wood the way it is, very nice. Whats the brass clamp thing on the Richmond front sight area?

Fine twist = Damascus barrels. You should see the spiraling grain on the barrel metal.

Where do you draw the line?

I dont reenact because there aint much of that going on around here that i know of. All the F&I and Rev and Civil War stuff happened no where near me and there just isnt any. My main thing is guns, all periods too and i like my guns to be as “correct” as possible no matter the period. I dont do...

    Putty knife to patch knife

Yeah great idea. I did the same thing with an old silver handled butter knife. Just a min on the grinder for a point and an edge.

I got that Spanish musket now (pics)

Its a cool gun and it looks nice and points well, im just leery about indian stuff and would rather pay the extra money for the higher quality and peace of mind and safety. It was fun bringing it back to life and making it shine again though. I enjoy doing stuff like that. Its in the for sale...
