    I carefully widened the spring just a tad using 2 needle nose pliers and it seems to be working fine, at least for now. If it fails then your method will be next.

    I have one from Harbor Freight and only use it when I shoot 2-3 BP guns . The cylinders and barrels get cleaned up pretty good while I clean the frames. Cuts down on time when cleaning multiple cylinders and barrels. I do not use it for just one gun only.

    As she gets dirtier the caps will stick and the cylinder will start to gum up. I use Pam cooking spray on the cylinder pin after a quick wipe after about 25-30 shots fired. Sometimes I can shoot 50 rounds with no major issues.

    DIY Bore Butter

    A beeswax/coconut oil brick from Hobby Lobby works great as a lube. I melt it to use as a bullet dip on paper cartridges and when cooled as a loaded cylinder lube using loose ball charges.
