Just got a backorder notice for a 50 cal Lyman Great Plains Pistol kit. This will go with the same rifle I'm in the process of making.

When it comes to this type of rifle I think of it as art. You are buying it because a certain maker made it. The better the maker the higher the demand, so the more he will get for his work.

    Hanging rifle over the fireplace

I use cheap steel L brackets. I cover one end with felt then screw it to the wall and paint that end with the same wall paint. When I hang the rifle up its hard to see the mounts, so it looks like its just floating.

    Ordered a Kibler

I love the Kibler kits. I've spent a lifetime working with my hands. A lot of years doing hard work and my hands are in bad shape. If it wasn't for these kits I might not have able to make a rifle. So for me these are great and thanks to all at Kibler Longrifles for making wonderful kits.

    Kibler SMR Build-Part 1

^^here in San Diego where I live its the other way around. UPS hands things off to USPS. Also when they do this it delays delivery by a day or two. Over all with the amount of things I have sent to my house I've had very few problems , and I think they all do a pretty good job. We just tend to...

    Kibler SMR Build-Part 1

I had the end smashed in on a Kibler SMR box by the Post Office. I thought oh no, but everything was fine. The box broke around the fore end of the stock and didn't do any damage to the stock. That is one strong piece of walnut used for that stock.

I'm already frustrated, and I've had the gun 30 minutes!

I'm not sure if its been said before, but you always remove the lock before you remove the barrel.

    Permalyn or Tried and True

I've used and like Tried & True, but it takes a long time to dry. However I don't think anything else can give you that beautiful oil finish look.

I sand my brass with 400 grit paper then polish with green Scotchbrite for a nice satin finish.

    Pedersoli Kentucky pistol.

I just got one of these kits also. I plan on filing the sights down and leaving the barrel blued. I will be using steel wool on the barrel to give it a gray finish.
